Heh, I was waiting for you guys to get ahold of this. They can't tell us how it's gonna be distributed yet, or how large of a beta it will be. I think it's going to be medium range, say a couple thousand players and everyone'll just have to see what happens, and who manages to get in on this.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the internal beta they did with Microsoft employees for Halo 2 was right around the 10,000 person mark. I'd be surprised if the open beta was a smaller number then that.

As fugitive said though, I can not wait for the 6 hour single game sessions of bug hunting.

So during that quick wee game of Halo 2 I managed with some of you yesterday it was mentioned that this 360 headset thingie would make you all sound really muddy and terrible, at least I think that's what was said as you all sounded really muddy and terrible. Is there any way to clean that up a bit so I can actually understand what you folks are saying?

I do not have a 360, but I think somehow it just sort of goes away, over time. I think there might also be some third-party adaptor that you can get to plug in the old headset somehow? thunderclap, didn't you get something like this?

It was so great to see you, but I must admit that after the first two minutes of you being there, I couldn't hear you at all, if you were speaking.

Good luck with it either going away, or finding another solution! I've missed seeing you on Halo!

It lets you plug in any standard headset plug like you could on the original xbox.

That said, apparently the xbox 360 headset system just sucks. I've had the muffled problem from others from time to time. Nothing seems to fix it but waiting. The muffled thing even happens with the adapter sometimes.

But, at least with the adapter and another headset you don't have the dreaded echo problem.
