evenlake, was it just the phrase "the Dear Boss letter" or was it the entire letter (as published here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dear_Boss_letter)?

neither. it was a picture of a piece of paper, with dear boss at the top, and then lines indicative of text written. someone posted a pic in this thread.

Has anyone had any luck with the dots on the back of the photo? Any chance of a better scan so we can all have a go at it.

My own picture

Just received mine today. (sigh)
1. Rusty piece of metal.
2.Who
are
not
with Dear Boss letter.
There seems to be nothing else of importance re: envelope, physical texture of photo.

two things:
A)The printing behind seems to be slightly different from Olly's version as it is more complete -you'll notice it ends with an "x" as a signature. Jack the Ripper's letters ended with his own signature. While this could be a printing error from Kevin's standpoint, perhaps we should scan and compare versions of all "identical" clues.
B) I also agree with leaking pen about the ayer house. That's what I read as well. Also, the house is boarded up in the pictures and this is a picture of a steel belt. It all fits together BUT just to avoid keeping all eggs in one basket: could this spell "over"?

Is this a question?
Who are not the men who will be blamed for?
The answer being the Juwes.

I also agree with Agememnon about it looking more like a V in the word written on the steel band.

Sorry mate, my scanner to didn't scan the last bit with the 'x' on it. I didn't realise until you mentioned yours but I definitely do have an X on mine.

Well at least that one is put to rest. Smile Back to the old drawing board.
On my other point now..
I am NOT going to look into the "x"
(repeat while banging head on wall)
I am NOT going to look into the "x" Laughing

By the way, I emailed Kevin with the speculation that this could be pointing to Jack the Ripper.

I heard back from him today:

Kevin wrote:
Yeah, I didn't like the look of those pictures before I sent them to you
guys. I hadn't made the jack the ripper connection. Yikes...

I agree that we seem to be looking down the barrel of a pretty scary gun,
luckily we do have a gun on our side... Lane. He does have some ghost
busting guns. If you have to confront someone or something, I can probably
arrange for him to be lurking nearby as backup.

I really hope that we aren't facing down a ripper. No one has been killed,
have they? I see that Gabriel is going to be going through the professor's
notes. Poor guy. Hopefully that will let us know what we are dealing with.

Let me know if I can be of any more help

K

I'm planning to pass on the info on the ages of death - but I can't recall where we picked them all up. Was it RUMI, or elsewhere?

The ages of death have come from various sources, the first was the voice heard during the RUMI test, then there have been the details through the Divination Board, and finally some detail from Raph's dreams.

It is as leakingpen describes, an image of a letter starting "Dear Boss" followed by diagonal lines implying the body of a letter, then signed with an "x".

(Sorry for the slow response, have been away for a bit.)

Ive been lurking for a bit and heres my idea. 4 Jacks were talked about. Jack the Ripper being the first. 4 Jacks...kinda like a deck of cards right? And if the Ripper is first....what the hell could be worse. Also, if were going after the Ripper, we might wanna warn the doctor and them about it.
