[Recruitment] Stop Cat Invasion
A call to arms

Artists, Webdevs, Puppetmasters and Writers

We are a group of young Australian graduates interested in developing a commercial ARG based on the concepts of viral equity.

So what is viral equity?

Viral equity is profit splitting in its most pure form, All profits are split among contributers according to their total additions to the project (aggregate work units).

If you would like to express an interest in this project or for any general queries please write to us at:

flatland.submissions @gmail.com

To be considered for the project please include a ONE page CV and a submission which showcases your unique skill and talent. i.e. a sketch, written piece, puzzle, game concept etc...

International submissions are welcome and encouraged.

edit: Moved to more appropriate forum - Rowan

Ok so I'm cynical. Why do I want to submit a one page CV to someone who hasn't even used a name?

Do you have a business regisitered? Or something to suggest your serious?

What do you mean by "commercial ARG"? (It's like saying your selling stuff, but not saying what you're selling...)

And the flip side of the coin, what credentials do you have to run/manage this business?

Out of interest, what city are you based in?

Considering that some people (puppetmasters as well as players) like their curtain, aren't these things exactly the sort of things that they should confine to private correspondence with potentially interested participants?

I'm not asking the name of the ARG they are developing, I'm not asking for what it contains. I don't think I'm asking anything that would allows the game to be traced back to them*.

Thinking back to syzygy, when they were recruiting, they didn't just post a few lines of text, they had a website to help communicate what it was about (here | here) that launch had nothing to do with perplexcity, they could have dropped off the radar and nobody would know who produced perplexcity.

I agree if it's grassroots and particularly if your known in the community, anonymity has its place. But this is business. I regard it differently.

To me it's just not a great first impression to make, I wouldn't go as far to as to say what they've posted is 'wrong', just disappointing. Things like ..."young Australian graduates ..." graduates of what? it's asking more questions than it answers.

*to clarify the "commercial ARG" question, taking the whitepaper definitions, is it promotional or productized? I'm not really interested if the story is sci-fi or not...

So, email them and ask for the info you want. <shrug>

I don't see why they should have to post it here.

Well, yeah. You can always turn it around and say I should do more. And I don't mean to say they have to do anything. But it still doesn't look good.

I'm placing the onus on them because they are looking for someone.

I am potentially an employee for them, and they've put me off with their ad. It looks like some grass roots effort with eyes bigger than their belly.
