I took that as part of the lighting effect, but you might be onto something.

BTW I've also noticed the two passwords so far have been similar hades and horns, both 5 letters, start with h, and end in s.

New board up and running.

Words:
What, who, where, circles, ritual
you, see, future, trail, demons

LOADS of stuff in there this time, I'm pulling together the usual spreadie.

EDIT: added spread with 2 word combo results. There were no 3 word combos this time (strange, anyone want to double check?), also strange is the word trail isn't used at all..

EDIT 2: added extract in Word..
so we have the references to the Ourobos, nice tie in with the Cyphers. Also we're given a clear directive, we have to stop Edward as it appears he is trying to control the FF (Four Fiends)

Here's a possible Biblical connection.

Something interesting,
This quote sounded familiar:
Q:What do the demons want?
A. Demons want to fulfill their ancient functions. Four kinds of death, but in the symbolic world, a man can replace them.

And indeed. There is a very similar Biblical reference. The "four kinds of doom" prophecy.

Jeremiah 15:3: And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy. (King James Version)

By the same token I think we will need to symbolicaly replace the fiends/deaths/demons with a -sword -dogs -birds and -beasts in order to neutralize (?) them.

Finally, Excellent work ALISDAIRPARK. I noticed the trail thing as well but couldn't get it to work.

That sounded like the obvious way to read it initially for me as well.
But I think that this initial reading is mistaken.

1.Death is himself one of the four riders... how can death be a type of "death"?
2. "In the symbolic world, a man can replace them" . This sounds like instructions to me: The Jeremiah "dooms" seem to be more accessible to be found and replaced than the four horsemen of the Apocalypse("beasts" notwithstanding)
3. Finally, -and this is stretching it, I know- Jeremiah (unlike John) is Old Testament , which could tie in with "the Juwes" of the Jack the Ripper letters.

All circumstantial naturally. Smile
Questions are begged: e.g. how is "doom" a type of death? Why go into Biblical references now (especially since the facts so far are very secular and scientific)? etc.

I like it simply because this explanation would fit nicely as it would provide a way to go in a future "ritual" or whatever we're supposed to do. It ties loose ends.

I'm just letting this thought loose if we suddenly need to start looking for a "sword" or a "bird" at some stage. Something for the folks who will be there (sadly in Greece I miss the real time changes)to keep at the back of their minds.
Just my 2 cents.

There is also the thought that Sword ties in the Jack the Ripper idea, both are still speculative I think, but it's a link.

If this is the case it will be interesting to see what/who they pick for the other types of death.

Well, there are two anti-swords:

1: A shield (no self-respecting knight is ever without one!)

2: In keeping with the Biblical tie-in, a ploughshare (from Isaiah 2:4 - "They shall beat their swords into ploughshares, their spears into pruning-hooks . . . ")

Has anyone any ideas on the 'ouroboros' link as it was mentioned twice from the board as the dragon that eats its own tail.
Could it just mean that the beginning and the end are in the same place? At the house. Since I missed the start of the game and the online part I'm not sure if I missed something here. Can you tell me the significance of Ayer house. Is this where the incident took place?

We're not really sure about Ayer house, other than what it says about it on descry.us.

The only real significant change is that it used to look like a normal photograph of an old wooden house, but the picture changed making the house look really bright and what looks like a figure of a human man or woman looking out the window.

Which one?

The one when we weren't present on IRC?

or when we were?

If you mean when we were on IRC, they did it in Erikson's lab.

Board Update

I found another message from the board.
WHAT DO YOU SEE IN THE FUTURE?

A MAN STANDS IN GREEN LOOPS, AND CALLS FORTH FOUR FACES OF DEATH. WILL HE TAKE CONTROL? THE GUN SAYS NO, BUT THE GUN SAYS YES.

Couldn't find any more 4 combinations but that is not to say that there are none.

Oh crud. That means we might have missed other combos on the last board. I couldn't face checking through the 330 combos there would have been on board2! I did check board1 and found none though.

FYI, there are 210 4 word combos to check, if anyone wants to?

Good catch Shady. I had a go at about 100 combos before life caught up with me.
My emphasis was on the word "Trail" which should be part of something.

I'm thinking 5 word combo? (shudder)
