Apparently my submission was accepted. I just received this from Trumbo:
[META] I'm not sure how we're supposed to handle the 'secret' code names. The PMs have to realize that they can't really remain secret, but just in case I've edited the email to put my codename and D.T.'s codename in spoilertext.

My Flag Re: code names. Well, uF is OOG. I'm not sure if they really expected us to not share that information in here. Kinda like the secret meeting place. Of course we're gonna share. But if there is an "invited chat" then I guess you have to be on the guest list to get in the door (just like any other secret organization).

wherein I play the messenger boy As pledged, I sent Patricia Moore (via mollyhaleisasammeeeee) the message "a boy's best friend is his mother". I just got this in return:
Quote:
Tell Rhoda the following message for me.
Mame Dennis will be there.
Give me the date and time.
Since "Rhoda" is Dalton Trumbo's codename (see post above), I forwarded the message to him.
EDIT:
Shortly thereafter I received this from D.T.:
Quote:
Could you please tell Mame Dennis the correct date and time for our meeting?
Revolution is now!
Rhoda Penmark
So, I sent this email to mollyhaleisasammeeeee:
Quote:
Rhoda received your message and asked me to tell you the time and date:

And she replies back:
Quote:
Thank you, Lutzkendorf.
I will see you there.

I wrote to Jean about joining Dalton Trumbo's group. I was afraid it was a trap. I didn't hear from him so I went aead and joined. Of course I received this from Jean about an our after joining.
Quote:
Hello to you dashing Dashcat! It is me! The One and the Only Jean Moulin! And yes I must tell you that I am still very brave and very handsome. I do not know for sure, but I hear that Mister Dalton Trumbo's meetings are held in complete darkness from under the ground somewhere. Maybe you could sneak your beautiful self into the meeting of the communists unnoticed. Be sure not to smile! Your sparkling teeth would give you away. The communists do not smile too much. They are very serious. Perhaps I will try to sneak into this meeting. Do we know where it will be? I could go and protect you, my dashing and beautiful Dashcat!
I am the One and the Only
Jean Moulin
Should I tell Jean how to find the meeting?
Edit
I gave Jean the SCP address and told him to be careful if he tries to sneak in.

Should JM come to the meeting? Oh, won't it be lovely to have Jean Moulin there to protect us? ....As long as Comrade Trumbo doesn't find out....
He will need a secret code name, maybe Cathy Kuttner can get one for him? And he has to curb his speaking style - Comrade Trumbo knows JM very well, and would recognize him in an instant! And if he knew that any one of us is close to JM, then Comrade Trumbo might not give us Piece #5.
Decisions, decisions. Your call

Try resending it. Sometimes the internet is screwy (there have been times that stuff has been delivered to me in gmail over 24 hrs after it was sent). Double check the email address.

So as per Timothy Mann's suggestion, I wrote Comrade Trumbo and asked him to tell me about his screenplays...
Mister Dalton Trumbo aka 'Rhoda' wrote:
Comrade Lutzkendorf,
Someone at Otis told you I am a writer? Do you mind if I ask who?
I've only allowed a handful of employees to read my work. Was it Patricia
Moore? Did Patricia Moore tell you about the reading I had for my screenplay
titled "The Emma Goldman Players in Red Square"? I've had a ton of buzz about
it around town. It needs the right people to get behind. Believe me it has HIT
written all over it! I'd love to get Mel Brooks read it. Its a comedy. Mel loves comedy!
Picture Ernst Lubuitsch's "To be or not to Be" but instead of Poland during the occupation,
you've got Russia just after the Czar has fallen and these wacky Bolshevik actors who
are putting on a play in the square about the Czar and his family are mistaken as the
actual Czar family. The revolutionaries are frightened because they think these are the
ghosts of the Czar and the Czarina coming back to haunt them! It is hilarious!
You know, Lutzkendorf, comedy is nothing more than tragedy plus time!
I love writing, Comrade! When I am not busy planning the Spoocheeeee revolution, you
can find me banging away at my computer! My mother always told me that I had a talent
for the dramatic arts. I'm not only about laughs, Lutzkendorf. I do like revenge stories as well.
I've written a pitch for one revenge story that I have never shown to anyone. I'm afraid it
will be stolen and sold to Gail Berman at Parmount! Gail would love this story! Do you know
Gail? She loves a revenge story. It takes place in my beloved Beverly Hills. It involves a
spirit from the Tongva tribe. I'd tell you more but then I'd have to kill you! Joke!
That's a joke, Lutzkendorf. Lighten up, Comrade! Am I boring you? I'm sorry. When
I start to talk about the biz, you can't get me to shut up! I have ideas all the time,
Lutzkendorf. I'm bubbling over like the electric fountain! I just thought of an idea!
Two Comrades named Lutzendorf and Rhoda, who are also writers, take a road trip
to collaborate on a book but it isn't your usual buddy movie. Reality and fiction blend
and you never know what's real and not real. I like that! We should talk more
about this.
I'm sorry, Lutzkendorf, that's my phone. If you don't make it to the meeting,
don't worry. I'll make sure the meeting is recorded and available to you.
We should get together and talk about our writing again soon.
Let us march together!

I wrote back to D.T. buttering him up and asking him about his Tongva story. Got this reply this morning:
Comrade Rhoda wrote:
Comrade Lutzkendorf,
Our buddy movie will have to wait!
I was up all night, after the first meeting of the SPC BH,
and I was thinking about the Tongva revenge story!
Talking to you about it opened the creative flood gates! It is
time to dust off my Tongva pitch! If I prepare something,
could you, since you are a fellow writer, take a look at it and
give me your honest opinion? I feel that I should not sit on t
his idea any longer! Before I go to Gail with it, I should work
out any flaws or questions.
This is going to be the one for me, Lutzkendorf!
I can feel it! And I agree about Mame Dennis. I hope
she survives room 505. I would love for her to see my
success with the Tongva horror movie slash hero epic! This
would really impress her! Maybe I should throw together
a reading or maybe I should make a presentation?!
Presentations are the in way to pitch these days. I will
write more later, Lutzkendorf. I have a presentation to
think about!
Let us march together!

I sent Dalton an email about the meeting and asked him if we could help the Tongva reclaim their land.

Comrade Trumbo,
I was so excited for the meeting tonight and I love the new flag. I was wondering, with this being the Beverly Hills secret cell, do you have any plans to help the native people of Beverly Hills, the Tongva to reclaim their land? It is so sad to read the stories of the "trail of tears" they have been forced to travel over the years. I mean they don't even have anyone left who speaks the native language. I've found a few words like, yamonhene, mahar, nocuma, and quaoar, but most seen to be forgotten. I hope we can help them.

Pinky,
I am glad our cell managed to meet after the raid on our Beverly Hills' headquarters. Mr. Alan Johnson's Jackals were very destructive and two of our Comrades are now gone forever. We will honor them at our next SCP gathering. Revolution does not come without sacrifice.
So, you too know about the Tongva tribe? There are only a few of us who know they exist. What a story! They were living peacefully with the land, and of course their wonderful life was snatched from them by imperialists. When I walk around Beverly Hills I try to imagine it as it was for the Tongvas. Picture this: Beverly Hills without Barneys! Beverly Hills without CAA! Beverly Hills without the cars and people trampling over the sacred land! There is only one place in the entire town that appears somewhat close to the Tongva land of "gathering waters". There is a park along Santa Monica Boulevard. I walk along here often. There are days when I can hear the ancient Tongva hero and spiritual leader, Chingichnish, call out to me. I have shared my problems with Chingichnish and received crucial advice and direction from this great spririt. Do you know what Chingichnish has also told me, Pinky? Chingichnish tells me the Tongva spirits are angry with the rich and the famous of Beverly Hills. Speaking of Chingichnish, you know Chingichnish was said to have appeared hundreds of years ago to teach the people how to live in harmony with 'Nocuma' (the Great Spirit). He said that Nocuma would give three warnings to people who failed to respect the land, beyond that nature would take its course. Does that scream silver screen, Pinky? I think it does. This could be one of the great stories of our time. I believe this should be a hybrid movie. You could combine the horror genre (the spirit seeking revenge on the rich and famous -- think Paris Hilton running for her life down the alleyways of BH) with the great Hero epic genre (the Tongva people rescue their beloved land)! I have been sitting on this idea for years! I've never told anyone about it but I was chatting it up with another comarade yesterday and the juices are flowing and I feel the time is now! This story should be told! I must still be guarded. This town is full of thieves! This one good idea can be stolen and sold before I finish my breakfast! Please keep my idea between us, Pinky. Let's talk more about this later. I must go and write down my idea about Paris Hilton! What a scene that would be!
Let us march together!
Rhoda
