Thats what I think also, Wolfhawk. I think there was a spy on the project. Thats how defence corps knew to buy the project right away. Someone tipped them off. I don't think its Phil. Phil is probably playing a game somewhere. I am starting to think Brackin was involved. Brackin lost all contact with his team. He only has 1 still valid e-mail account (Phil). Foo acts like hes been talking to them all. Also why haven't the Defence corps people shut down the project??? They gotta know someone is getting the signals. How do we know even if the signals are from the future that Foo and brother theo aren't paid actors, paid to tell the present day Foo and Theo lies. It would be easy for the present day defence corps to be getting the real feed and then pass along fake info from the future to Foo and Brother Theo. Thats why Phil is important. He works for defence corps

Hmm, I think I shook things up a bit. Sorry I didn't get this here sooner, but yesterday was a busy day at work. I decided to email Bracken, Foo, and Alex directly with my theory that the feed is not from the future but is in fact from the present time. Here are the responses:

This email is not my primary mode of correspondance with those who are following me. I apologize if I have not made personal contact with everyone, but at the moment I am pirating a wifi off of a loading dock waiting for the next chance to hop a boxcar, so you can understand that blogger is a better way. If you have not yet found it remember: Nostredame is the key to all of this.

Mr. Brackin, or should that be Brother Theo?

I received this email {referring to the initial responses most of us received} from you many days ago. In it, please note that you say: "I'm going to trust you Pam." I took this to mean you would include me with those other trusted individuals attempting to sort out this Defence Corps difficulty. However, as I have received no further emails from you, I am beginning to doubt the veracity of your statement.

A thought has occured to me concerning these "future" messages. Are they actually from the future? Is is not possible that a present-day organization merely
fed your team the information making you think it was the future? Is there any proof that the communiques are indeed from a future earth?

I wish you luck in your travels. Perhaps you will deign to include me in future contacts meant for those of us who are attemting to assist you.

Thank you,
Pam

Yes, I am "playing" a bit of a snob.

Yes. The proof is simple. Imbedded in the transmission was a second one for me and me alone. The proof: "President" Fujimoto used my real name: Mustafa Tang. I have since changed my name because for the first few weeks it was not safe. I am now hidden safely, where even Brackin can not find me... and as I have always said: Information should be free to all.

Please accept my apologies; I failed to clarify my concerns. Real names are a matter of public record. If a person has enough savvy to create a transmission which appears to be from the future, it stands to reason they realized the necessity of obtaining specific, pertinent information about one or all of your coworkers to use as "proof."

I do say I am rather perturbed about your statement that information should be free to all, yet you remain hidden and fail to release the information you have gathered in your efforts.

Thank you again for your time,
Pam

I have not received a response to this one yet.

I found this to be the most interesting:

I apologize if I overstepped any forum or game boundaries; I just thought someone sleeping through the culmination of all their hard work looked suspicious. Since it did appear to shake Alex up I wonder if I should try a "blackmail" approach of sorts. Any suggestions?

Ok, help me out. How should I phrase it?

I know we shouldn't ALL try to jump on him because he will get spooked, but we can work on the phrasing.

In the meantime I sent this:

I am thinking of a bluff of some kind - you know, the old "I know what you did" type thing but I have nothing to back it up. That may not matter, though. He may bite anyway.

Or perhaps something like: Give me the information (what information?) or else (what?).
Or maybe: I find your attempts at team disruption amusing. Pray tell, why do you care?

The problem I have with your theory is there doesn't seem to be a reason for Alex to fake transmissions from the future. Unless it's an elaborate plan to short-sell Defense-corp stock once the company goes public.

I do think there was a spy on the project and I do think it was Alex...I just don't believe in the logic behind it.

What we know: Alex slept through the broadcast despite usually being a "morning person". Alex was the one who "confirmed Brackin's untrustworthiness of Foo" (I think I posted that email somewhere here, let me know if I didn't and I'll get it up). We also know that Alex's dad is very very rich (able to have a private charter plane) and very well might be the private investor.

So the accusation could insinuate that Alex leaked the information to his father to organize a speedy Defense-Corp buyout?

While everything at the time seems to point in that direction, I really hope is not just a cheap frame to trick Foo and Brackin. That would be Lame, people do not change enought from twentysomething to fiftysomething as not to be recognized by themselves, and if Foo really didn't recognized himself, going nuts over the fact that he knew his name and nothing else is pretty dumb.

I do think is possible, and it wouldn't be inverosimil, but that would mean Brackin is nuts and Foo is an idiot, so the pillars of the story would crumble.

That said...

The trick to catch Alex would be indeed to bluff. Our choices are to do a small bluff and just tell him you now know what is really going on, hoping he puts himself in evidence trying to get out of a possible accusation; or do a huge Bluff, tell him you know how important is Foo (or Brackin) for the plan, and that you have evidence that will convince him or the farse.

I vote for the big one.

How many have you had dude? I'm working on five from the staff fridge

For the record I didn't tell him to lock anybody anywher and I just
want to clear that up. I din't dislike foo, and alex has been my friedn
for a long time, but this thing with them went too far in my opinion. I
merely sugested that he COULD have deleted that file - I never accused
foo of anythign! If alex hadn't found that time-stamp from the moon
test... but you REALLY don't want to get into that.

Seriously thoth, I did gave alex every chance to join with me from the
first here at the d-corp magical mystery encampment but he just decided
to go another way and now he's doing godknowswhat with some other
project. Rich kids are like that I guess so forget about him dude. I have!

There - I said my peace, my conscience is clean. Hope the Nazi's arent
waching the email too close.

Dang look at the time! I'm guess goin' across the road to bed finally
cuz its friggin cold and I REALLY don't feel like getting up tomorow and
comign back to this crapfest trailer thro the snow instead staying in
my little crapfest trailer - but since I don't have internet OR tv ther
I pretty much haved to.

so Alex is the tratior from the start

And there goes our last bastions of sanity Razz

Still, we have no hard evidence of Alex being a traitor. I don't say he's not one, but all we have is the word of Phill. Maybe he is the traitor and is trying to get away by accusing Alex.

And even if Alex locked Foo in the server, that doesn't mean he's a traitor, just that he locked Foo. Maybe he was messing with him, kids in college do that kind of stuff.

Info from Alex Wright:
NEW?

Yes, it's me. Having login trouble. Long story.
I recently emailed Alex with a question that has been troubling me for some time:

My reply:
Quote:
Who the hell is Tim Fujimoto? If you are talking about the transmission
we got on the 11th from Mustafa *Tang* Fujumoto then all I can say is
believe what you want Brackin and Foo are certainly going at it.

Speaking of, as far as I know Foo locked himself in the server room.
Why are you asking me? How should I know? The guy was deleting Phil's
files and trying to sabatoge the project, and when we accused him he
dissappeared for like a month. Now tell me THAT'S not suspicious!

Alex (almst3kSPLATyahoo.com)

Suspicious, indeed. I have followed up on this and am awaiting a response.

I was away for a while, but from what I've seen in the two threads, this is the right side for me. Foo was a nutjob from the first time we met him, and now it looks like Brackin becomes a religious-minded fool in the future. I'm all for striking out on our own and solving this rationally.

<meta> Hi everyone. I'm trying to catch up here. Some of you may have heard about the ice storms in the midwest usa - my house has been out of power since Thursday night. S'COLD!!! I'm checking this from work so hopefully I'll be able to join back in soon. <meta>

Anyone else think the Foo/Brakin divide is turning into a pro-Foo/anti-Foo divide? Just wondering.

A lot of people who think both Brackin and Foo are nuts are on the green side. I personally empathised with Beck's idea that Theophilus is talking a load of rubbish and that the Brotherhood is only really there to subvert Grey district's masses. However I always disliked Beck's trust in VNS and I think that the only real way to form a solution is to ally with Brackin. Am I talking rubbish? For various people - this is very TIAG and please don't use this from the interface, but I somehow trusted Beck more than Theophilus. However now that Beck is *gone* I'm willing to put my trust in Theophilus as the only method of coming to a sensible conclusion. There is something, however that seems rather iffy about him.

That would be the fact that he's completely and screaming insane. Still I trust him with my life (all 4 or 5 years I have left anyway Wink )
