Cool Thanks.

Oh, for the person who doesn't see the 111 on the NEVEC error page:

just go to http://www.neovenusconstruction.com/strhdacasdr (or any other random string of letters) and watch the middle of the page before it loads completely. Here's the source for the numbers:

Code:
<div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:518px; top:252px; width:180px; height:50px; z-index:1; font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 66px; font-family: Courier New, Courier, mono;">111</div>

ETA: You can only see it the first time the page loads; you'll have to go to a different page and then back to the error page if you missed it the first time around.

wikiNEVEC

OK, you can trout me for this too if you need to, but I haven't seen a wiki for this game anywhere. I took the liberty of creating one... very easy to edit, and I hope we can all catch it up in the next few days before things start happening so fast it's hard to keep track.

http://www.wikinevec.wetpaint.com

Hopefully, this IS new and it's not just a copy of something that's already been made.

Blowing the game open means to me, making things start to happen more frequently and opening a flood of information. Taking things to the next step is pretty much the same thing...

But the PM didn't say "blowing the game open". ARGN did, but in a completely different context: ARGN doesn't know what we need, or whether we have what we need, to blow anything open. The writer merely invites people to look at the game to see if they can find what is needed (presuming it is there and we need it) to progress the game. I think the way you have it stated now implies that ARGN knows that there is something there to... er, be blown - and they don't, afaik.

By the way, did anyone else think the author of the ARGN article only read the first half of the thread? They didn't mention anything about Alfred, HINT UPSET EVE, or anything that's happened in the last week...

Knowing Rowan, I doubt it. I think she didn't mention these details because it is not ARGN's objective to present the details and the intricacies of the games they cover (that's what they link to relevant uF threads for). This article is just an introductory piece letting the readers know that this game is there, as well as providing them with a brief of what it's about, and how far along it is. It's just kind of a "there is a new game, come play"-type-article.

aww. and i never trouted someone before. now I feel all bad.

Awesome job with the wiki, though! Confusing with the different sites/organisations and abbreviations for each. I'll head over there and contribute in a little while.

That's just my point; the article seemed to suggest we were much farther behind than we are. It didn't show how far along the game is at ALL, merely said that it's just starting. If it mentioned the first two video clues, in intricate detail, why not the third? I could see if the video came out a day or two before the article, but it's been out for a week now.

Don't feel bad about the trout, lmao, it's no big deal. I was just all excited cause I thought I'd found something good, and it was discussed all the way back on page three.

As for the Wiki, I hope it helps! The game could get confusing fast with the different websites and all the 111 use, so I figured it would be a good idea to start organizing now before it starts to get out of hand.

from the point of the article its better to let people think we havent gotten far so theyll want to play instead of reading through a mountain of "clues"

Maybe because the 3rd video clue didn't give all that much information, IMHO. I only mentioned the first clue 111 because that is what (I thought) got people interested in seeing if there was going to be more to come - and there was with the second video giving the url.

I'm sorry that I didn't spell out every single last clue that has been received in the article. But then again, I wasn't exactly writing a step-by-step walkthrough of the game so far. I could have as, despite what you may think, I have read this entire thread and gone through each of the websites as much as I can. As yanka said, it was just an introductory piece. There has to be something left for people to discovery on their own.

All that aside, it is entirely possible that I took the phase "the next step" out of context. It seems as if the original post by Sven had been edited by the time I got to the Capcom boards, so I can only go by what people quoted. But having played a number of games from their start, it is not too far out of the realm of possibility that a 'next step' at this point in the game could mean something big. And before everyone goes and starts reading more into what I've written or what has been said on the Netcast, let me say this - ARGN has no insider information on this game (or if they do, they aren't sharing it with me). The only information we're (I'm) going on has been gathered from this thread and others like it. But as I feel (as a ARGer) that this game is ready to begin in earnest, I stand by what I wrote.

I've been looking over the job categories since it's seemed like Alfred has been pointing to those rather frequently. The job id numbers are a navy blue unlike the rest of the text which is black. I'm not sure, but it could be a hint that those numbers are more important then we originally thought.

I noticed that the job ID numbers (on the Neo Venus Job Opportunities page) were rather odd, so I googled for them and found that 92.843, 4.869, 35.02, and 6052 are Venus' volume, mass, orbital velocity and radius, respectively (plus a few 10^x, of course).

thank u angelo for bringing us back to the game... were all just getting a little board with nothing happening and yes they are significant

and on another note 111=7 in binary and 1023 - is the highest number one can count to on one's fingers using binary

And just in case you are wondering if there's more behind the flash (it's not gif), I decompiled both the braille one and the clock yesterday (see how desperate am I?), but to no avail - it's just that, moving pictures. No hidden links, no suspicious scripts, nothing.

The numbers next to the job agency have been identified, back on page one.
