[22:02] douknowurhistory: rumor (and local legends) says that the land Greenview sits upon was once the home to a Native American shaman, a holy man if you will. Supposedly he was able to astral-project, and told his followers that he once visited a land far across the sea. The legend goes that when this holy man returned from the land across the sea, he brought with him a powerful object that was said to grant the power of Second Sight to any who posessed it. Many attempts have been made to locate the final resting place of this relic, and all have been unsuccessful. The locals like to think it's under the asylum and they tell everyone they can about its history.
[22:02] Russell unfic: do we know what shape or form this relic takes?
[22:03] douknowurhistory: Well, the stories differ.
[22:04] douknowurhistory: Some say it is a carved piece of stone, while others say a bone or a crystal.
[22:04] douknowurhistory: they all say, though, that whatever it is glows when the sky is clear
[22:04] douknowurhistory: and can cause strange dreams in those who see the glow.
[22:04] Russell unfic: And has this glow been seen somewhere near the asylum then?
[22:05] douknowurhistory: Well, some people claim to have seen it. Mostly patients. However, most of the patients are insane... so... it's doubtful that the story is actually true.
[22:05] douknowurhistory: Doesn't it make a nice STORY, though?
[22:06] Russell unfic: sure does, and with all rumours and folklore theres usually some truth at the centre of it
[22:07] Russell unfic: Has anyone ever tried excavating the area? Or maybe done tests to see what the asylum is built on, might be a cave complex directl;y under you...
[22:07] douknowurhistory: not that I have found, no...
[22:08] douknowurhistory: Much like the story of King Kong, if you were to remove the object central to the community built around it, the community would have a problem.
[22:08] douknowurhistory: Also, who knows what a glowing bone could do to the Empire State Building? Smile
