You already have all the information you need! The only thing left is to actually look into (or like me, get a librarian to do it for you) the book & find the proper words

if you think you know which book, remember Amazon has pics of the pages of some books - may help it all make sense

I know what to do and everything, I just can't do it, sadly. I doubt any of my friends in the US have the guts to phone a lbrary and ask for that :p

try any library in your area - if you're lucky enough you'll get a receptionist/clerk who will go and find the book for you.
That is actually the easiest way to get the answer. The girl I talked to was quite entertained Smile strangest call she'd ever received at the children's department... hehe

well, there is only one library close, and it was checked out, the next closest library had it on audio tape only, the next closest library after that had it, but i had to drive there, in the pouring rain, got lost twice...but i finally got it.

So I guess you no longer need help, eh, bruce?

That is what I did & I only called the library because the online listing was very unclear as to whether the book was available or not. Turns out it was & the clerk was also delighted to help, I just told her it was part of a scavenger hunt game

hehe yeah, while not ultimately getting us away from the computer and into a library, at least it got us talking with someone and probably brightening their day (and their co-workers') Razz

At my local library

They have the book at my local public library, but it's closed by now. Should I put a hold on it for tomorrow, or will that be too late?

Also, I still don't get how the code for the book title works. What kind of cipher is that?

This is totally gettable on Amazon. I spent most of the day scouring the bookstores and libraries of Boston, all of which I visited were out of the book. You can get all but three of the words by searching "inside" the book itself on Amazon, but the rest you have to get from a collection by the author. It has the entire contents of this work and the extra pages you need are viewable there!

Searched all through amazon and the web and can't find what I need.

Looks like I'll be dropping out the games. I asked snowball if I could get skip this puzzle since I'm in europe but it's not possible. Good luck everyone!

*ahem* You could start with what method was used to encode the password clue. I still haven't figured that out.
