Take pleasure in their defects.

Correct, or close enough anyhow (Der Nom der Rose or The Name of the Rose).

thanks

First of all thanks to Ehsan for posting the still. (my apartment is now finally cleaned and habitable though the re-painting will take a while)

I wouldn't have used that movie, thinking it was too recent and too well-watched by ARG people, but what do I know? I'll keep my narrow-release Scandinavian anti-war but pro-summer solstice movie on hold for the next time I inexplicably guess a correct title.

Second, I can't believe I missed guessing this one. I just can't keep up. I knew that movie in an instant because in addition to being my name (yes rose is a real nickname, not just a made-up-for-a forum nickname) it is a fantastic book and good movie which features Christian Slater doing a damn good job in his first big-screen role.

Ok, I've never actually seen The name of the rose. I began reading the book last summer (but never finished it Embarassed ) and that building reminded me of the one described in the book.

Anyhow, here's an easy one from my favorite movie ...

Christmas Vacation!

EDIT: OK, so probably an easy one, but it hasn't been done yet...

Since I don't think anyone's made The Caucasian Chalk Circle into a theater movie, I'll guess, The Skeleton Key

While mysterious things happen in this movie, I assure you, it's got nothing to do with Voodoo. (So not Serpent & the Rainbow)

Atrophied, you're very close! Some further reference:
