Yeah, that confused me too.
Maybe he meant the Beast?

That article also said that ILB was calling people in the middle of the night, which was pretty much untrue: all payphone calls and even the crew axon calls were during daytime and early evening hours for the most part.
I think the middle of the night calls might've been the Teddy calls from the Beast, although I never remember getting one at like, 3AM or anything. They were still creepy as hell, no matter the time of day. Heh.

Hubby is going to kill me if I suggest going to the Bellagio to watch the fountain on Saturday Jan 6th. He will have just come home for a visit after 8 months in Greenland. No promises, but maybe something will be noticeable and newsworthy. And the darn fountain goes off daily every half hour, nightly every 15 minutes....can't be there all night long.

One thing that JW mentioned at the end of his talk, and I suspect that this was a deliberate seed effort of his, was to say that if you were in front of the Bellagio during CES on 1/6/2007, you might see something interesting in the fountains. Anyway, in the spirit of thanking him for coming to the event, I thought I'd pass this on.
CES Jan 8-11.
Well, that's going to make it difficult to get a weekend for us at GVR. Bad timing.

So the sixth is before CES. Like 2 days before. I wonder if the blogger got the date right?

Yeah, it's worth noting that this isn't a news article -- it's some guy's notes on a presentation Jordan made, so I'm not sure how much its accuracy can be trusted...

About that article

Yeah, I was taking notes on my cellphone in a rather crowded room, so it's possible that I missed him switching context from 'ilovebees' to 'The Beast' at some point during the presentation, which he did a couple of times somewhat freeform. In terms of times released, it certainly makes more sense.

Where did I say that? If it's something in particular, I could check my original notes.

Hey, didn't mean to sound insulting! Goodness knows when I take notes, I'm sure I don't get it all down quite as the person said it. I just meant when you're taking notes on a speech, it's not like you can go back and have the speaker clarify and fact check like a journalist would before publishing an article. And thank you very much for putting them up -- we wouldn't have access to that information otherwise and it was awesome to hear about the fountains.

My apologies - I think I actually replied to the wrong thread or something. Sorry about that!

Speaking about the Fountains Any way we can confirm that part? Standing around watching the fountains all day on Saturday is something I cannot do. But if there is going to be something specific I'd love to be able to capture at least a few still shots (don't own a vid camera yet).

I've written a few people and asked them whether they could confirm whether the date was the 6th or the 8th. It would be an easy mistake to make on my phone, alas, and I don't know if other people were taking notes. If that doesn't work, I'll send out a mail to the dorkbot chat maillist later.

This is now confirmed with the start of VanishingPointGame.com and the countdown to Jan 8th 6:30p PST with Bellagio Fountains as the location. The trailhead for this puzzle trail/?ARG is here.
