Okay now I'm caught up, more-or-less. Given that this seems to be from from our friends at 42, the whole use of "Loki" can't help but remind me of our scary friend Loki from The Beast.

Anyway, I'm posting a screen cap from the vid that leads me to think that the black circle on the notebook page is a clock face, given the placement of the pocketwatch right next to it...

Hey, that's a good thought...
Also, is it possible that that pixellation isn't trying to hide something, but just emphasizing the word "timeless"?
Because that would support the whole time/space/light speed blah blah blah thingummy. And what with "vanishing point" and "timeless"? Time vanishing? That would have to be infinitely fast. Loki is a smart girl. Very Happy Anyway, just wanted to toss in some wild speculation for y'all to analyze.

[edit]
[SPEC] The book on her end table, "The Histories," by Herodotus, and the book she is reading, both seem important somehow in my opinion, but I can't get anything out of them. Anyone...?

I actually found this forum via a 42 employee's site, so I'm sure they are keeping a keen eye on the situation. (or maybe laughing their heads off, who knows)... Either way, I find this one interesting, should be fun to watch it unfold. I think there maybe a little bit of pushing going on from the neo forums though, who knows...

Welcome to our new members. We'd love to have to join us in the chat room where we have so much fun throwing spec around.

Amazing what happens when an idea is tossed into the pot.

The wiki has listed how to get into IRC via chat-solutions or chat-foshizzle or the java chat via ARGN.com or unfiction.com. The room is #vanishing.

I suppose if there's anything left to do it's to find out if the other bloggers who were given a laptop had any new keys.

just a bit of SPEC here, especially for those who will be at the Bellagio event, the comment about "someone will find me at my vanishing point" - possibly a live disappearing act will happen - with the person who finds Loki (or whoever disappears) being the winner.

Bloghaus is having an event at CES. Wonder if this has anything to do with the live event?

Bloghaus event

I believe the Bloghaus event is in the bellagio rather than at the central fountain alcove bit. Not to say they're unrelated, but you would have a hard time being at both.

Meiosis or Mitosis?

I'm wondering if the black circle with the curvy lines is something to do with biology as in either mitosis or meiosis...Another theory is that maybe this has something to do with time travel since some believe that time is in waves and not in straight lines. This theory also works with the pocket watch as it is used to tell time. Anyone have a larger pic of the watch? The time on it could be a clue.

Regarding the Chocolate in the hotel room
Chocolate anyone?

Well when the image searches on the web were not helping I decided to ask someone who knew something about chocolates.

Good day,

I'm in kind of a spot, I have a picture of some custom hotel chocolates and I am trying to determine which hotel they might have come from. Do you by chance recognize them?

and I received this reply

Quote:

They are made by a company called 'MONBANA' in France and the labelling on these is one they recently began using, which resembles 'ART NOUVEAU.'

From 2001-2003, my company, Xxxxxxxxxxx x'Xxxxxxxx imported these squares into the U.S. for re-sale to various U.S. restaurants, hotels and companies. However, we have since transitioned to another supplier who makes a very nice 'chocolat au lait a la menthe.'

What is your interest in these chocos? Are you looking to purchase some, or do you simply want to identifying the labels themselves?

We'd be happy to provide similar squares to you if you're interested. Our format has changed somewhat recently and we now provide customized labelling with either a company's logo in graphic form, or a photo. Our newest line includes photo labels with various Washington monuments, scenery or even animals.

Also, our company has evolved over time from being a large quantity commercial supplier to one that serves the private client gift market. Having said this, though, in certain circumstances we still provide as many as 2,500 squares to clients who desire it .

Over the past year or so, we've changed suppliers, and now buy chocolates of the same size from another fIrm for subsequent re-sale to our U.S. business clients.

As to WHICH hotel these may have been ultimately purchased by, it would be very difficult to say, as the labelling shown in your photo was used widely by Monbana's hotel/restaurant clientele.

If we can be of further assistance to you, kindly let us know. If appropriate, we'd be happy to send samples for you to taste. You can reach me in person by phone at our office in Virginia.

Amities,

Xxxxxx Xxxxxxx
