Hm, this looks like a spectacular opportunity for me, a newbie ARGer-wannabe, to jump into an ARG before it gets so far ahead that I'm totally lost. Smile

It looks like we're going to be waiting until after New Years until we get much more information (hopefully, we'll be contacted by the other skulls), so until then I'll just be lurking about.

Does that look like a musical cipher? bottom code almost looks like it could be a book cipher...page number and word. maybe deciphering the first code will give us the name of the book? just a guess.

you'll see that some of the letters are in red.

EDIT: the red letters correspond to the numbers at the bottom (e.g., "1-8" = 1st line, 8th letter).

Actually, it appears that the red lettering isn't entirely correct; the actual letters picked by the numbers at the bottom are:

cGe
CGg
ldB
i
ID
jGEM
MD
F

There were four letters mis-marked- the GEM from line 6, and the M from line 7. On the other hand, there were three letters marked in red that don't coincide with numbers- three capital I's, one at 1-28, one at 6-13, and one at 6-24.

I have no idea if any of this is significant.

Well I didn't pay close attention when I found the link in the source to the picture. I assumed it was in the same directory on freewebs -- so that's how I found the red-letter image.

But, looking at the source again, the actual link is this:

This is the image on the page. No red letters.
