Countdown Clock

Can someone verify the original times they had on the countdown clock with the ones they have now. I had thought that Phoenix was just a two minute difference than Sydney, Miami, & Austin, but now my computer is showing a two hour difference.

---I think I just figured it out. The two minutes after the hour is now gone and they changed the time to two hours later. It may have been a mistake on their end. Let me know if you guys are seeing the same thing.

SirQuady-- This would change the Phoenix countdown time to Jan 13th at 4:00pm if my computer is reading it correctly.

Finally got around to looking at the video and skimming this thread.
Which reflection is it you're talking about? I think I see two paintings on the wall with circles that have a sort-of binary look to 'em.

Someone mentioned earlier that there were four watches and a dart. I see four watches, but one of them is in two pieces (the last two she puts in the box are the shell and the guts). The dart is a jeweler's screwdriver.

The D&G logo appearing and disappearing on her glasses frames seems kinda weird, but it's probably just a trick of the light.

The wrappers from the eaten candies might be a color code of some kind. Like the resistor color code, though what order to put the digits in is not clear.

Just throwing stuff I saw out there for the hive mind to swarm over. Very Happy

not sure if it was mentioned, but the watch that she keeps on her instead of putting in the box - the time on it appears to be 10:10

Remember, its just a guess, but, if it is true, we will need to find more locations...... They might be referenced in that video, at least two have been spotted: The Japanese Hotel and that place in Las Vagas.

That hotel is the Bellagio in Las Vegas....just they used the Japanese marketing website for the picture.

BellagioJapanese

Timeless

I suspect that after the Las Vegas event, we'll see additional puzzle(s) that will lead to the location for the other events.

Sydney Countdown Checked

Quote:
Speaking of the Wiki, the countdowns were determined using the Countdown Timer Predictor. The only problem with this predictor is that it takes into account your computer's time zone. Therefore, to get the correct time for Sydney, someone in Sydney must use the Countdown Timer. I (living in the Eastern Standard Time zone), ended up calulating the time zones using good old math. Unfortunatley, my times might have been wrong. Could some people who live in the correct time zones please use the Countdown timer to find the times for the events in their time zone, and then add it to the wiki? Thanks!

Have used Countdown timer in Sydney zone, and it gives 8am SUNDAY.
Have also updated the Wiki appropriately . . . .

[edit - to fix the quote - kona]

Hmmmmm..... i did it to, i got Sunday, 14 January 2007, 7:55:00 am, but, that doesn't match the time on the wiki (i am using GMT+10, which, is what Sydney uses as well)

spec/realization

I'm almost certain that the books (Herodotus's Histories and the book she is reading) are important. Why? Because she mentions that she has a photographic memory, then she says she "hasn't forgotten a thing" and there is also the cutaway to the Histories on her bedside. I can't help but think that these books are important. This in turn leads me to believe that you guys will not be able to just walk up to Loki and say "Vista, please!" (if she even IS giving away copies of Vista) I think you might have to study and do something to earn it, possibly something involving those books...also, it's all about giving prizes to the smartest people in the world, but think about it...someone could just happen across the thread, see a date and time, and go get a free copy of Vista. Good for them, but that's way too easy. I think you'll have to do something AT the event...just a thought...

[edit] Wow, them neowin people are smart...I had a headache halfway down the page...

[edit edit] The watches are important, right? She has two completed watches, and she puts them both into the box. They both seem to read 9:15 as far as I can tell. Also, possibly of importance, is that they seem to be two different styles of watch. Then she places a third watch into the box which she has clearly just taken apart. It's in three pieces, the guts, the face (which is facedown Sad ) and the back. She puts a small screwdriver into the box with the watches and closes it, then she picks up a fourth watch (which reads 10:10) and puts it in her pocket. Also, she has a picture in her notebook which we have determined MIGHT be a clock face. Now this picture, as far as I can tell, has no point on it which could help us find the time written on it. BUT it seems to me that there may actually be up to 3 different times on it, as there are black, blue, and green hands. There's also a red mark which might be another set of hands, but as that would make four red hands (not to mention that they are curved) so this seems unlikely. Anyway, just wanted to throw that out. Consider it [SPEC]

[editing is fun] I think (PURE SPEC) that the people who get to the event may be pitted against each other somehow...on the FILE page, she says that ONE person will find her and at the end she says "Your chance to be THAT PERSON will START when the countdown hits zero." This says two things to me. One, that there may in fact be some sort of competition or challenge for the people who go to the event (validates my book theory) and two, that only one person can win...I really hope I'm wrong, though...just spec, just spec, just spec...

[one last edit] Circumambulation...walk in a circle...Microsoft...Xbox 360? Very Happy

White mark on glasses?

Did anyone else notice a white mark that appears on Loki's glasses at about 00:45? I have no idea what it is or wheter it is important, but it's definitely there...it doesn't appear on her glasses anywhere else in the video as far as I can tell...I'm including pics with times of capture and quotes from Loki at the time of the cap.

Artifact of the lighting in the room and reflections on the Dolce & Gabbana logo (i.e. expensive eyewear). Here is their website: eng.dolcegabbana.it/
