Hi! Happy New Year everyone.
Of course we can do Werewolf.
Just a quick update to add the following confirmations:
Adrian Hon
Dave Szulborski
And
labfly (from Sameeeeees - if she is still on the West Coast)
And I have finally a number of offers from hotels which I promise, with help from Ariock and Silverkun, to choose from ASAP. Thanks for all your patience!

You tempt me soooo badly. I don't think I have the funds to fly up though. If I were brave, I'd drive up. I stand by my long held belief that there needs to be an ARGFest in the south

Happy New Year!
I am sorry I haven't posted anything up to this point. My life is so exciting and filled with action-packed, fun-filled, and other hyphenated activities that I haven't had a chance to do much of anything else. *cough*
I have been chatting with Ariock and I want to help or hinder, whichever works out best for everyone.
Positive: I know the city very well, having lived here for 20 years. I also know the greater Bay Area, since I was born and (mostly) raised there.
Negative: I am not your regular Army General Pain In The Ass--I am Her Most Royal variety.

As long as you "helping" doesn't hinder you from doing your other job.
You know. Wearing a sparkly evening gown and pointing at the stick people in my power point presentation.
and also getting me coffee. NO NOT THAT COFFEE. THE GOOD COFFEE. *Throws coffee all over hmrpita's sparkly dress*

Those are animated stick people, right?
By the way, I decided to set up an unofficial official ARGFest-o-con committee to keep me from going totally off the deep end.
So far I have:
me
Gupfee
Ariock
Silverkun
Pita
theBruce
Catherwood
missphinx
unoffically unofficial:
Brian Clark (so unofficial he doesn't know it yet)
jamesi
SpaceBass
BriEnigma
imbri
Colin
Anyone I missed? If so, add your name. I'll post this on the wiki

Ditto on the hyphenation per pita, says the also-local who is guilt-ridden for not raising a hand sooner.
I'm not sure what I can help with but there's gotta be something, hyphens be damned.

T-shirt contest clarification Just a bit more info on the T-shirt design contest.
The prize: Simon Singh can't attend ARGFest but he generously sent an autographed copy of The Code Book and the accompanying CD-ROM. So the winner gets that book, a free T-shirt printed with the winning design and anything else I feel like throwing in the package.
About the design: Feel free to take liberties with the Sphere of Chaotic Fiction image. I mostly love the concept so don't limit your creativity with strict representational forms. We want a striking and beautiful, or at least attractive, visual image. You can enter more than once.
Contest ends at the end of the month.

HOTEL ! WE HAVE A HOTEL Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf Starting tomorrow you can reserve your room. I'll edit this with the precise contact information.
But here we go:
Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf
Cost $125 plus tax per room single/double
Holiday Inn Express Fisherman's Wharf
One block away and offers suites for those who prefer it
Cost $50 -60 more than the regular room.
I'm very excited about this location. We have access to a large conference space for the o-con part of ARGFest at a great price. And we are planning some stuff that will get us into other parts of SF as well.

Yes. BINGO!
I am thinking that we will put a couple of bingo cards in the registration packets, and people on-line can follow along as well. Perhaps a (very) small prize will be awarded during the conference for each bingo.
One rule: People in the audience are NOT allowed to ask questions designed to get responses they need.
Example: To Kristen Rutherford: "When you were the Sleeping Princess did you have any META discussions about dancing robots?"
This is not allowed.

ANNOUNCEMENT: KEYNOTE SPEAKERS and BOOKSIGNING I just got confirmation that the keynote speakers at ARGFest will be:
Elan Lee and Sean Stewart of 42 Entertainment.
Their topic is ... pretty much whatever they want..
OK, really, they will address the Future of ARGs along with anything else they want to talk about.
Sean Stewart has kindly agreed to also sign book for us.
