Thanks, reality!
And re the bldg in San Jose - are we sure it's a former AT&T building (since its name has not changed)? Frankly there are probably lots of former AT&T buildings around most large cities. But if you think so, we need to find out who's in there now so we can call and ask for the extension....

BTW, tried mailing loki.kitsune and l.kitsune at microsoft just on the off chance. Both bounced.

I called the Adobe number. Got Charlene's voicemail. Was hoping for "please enter the extension of the person you wish to speak to". Didn't leave a message. I suggest we not bug her again.

What is the number that was called at Microsoft to get the V-Loki portion?

AB Positive posted a number for Microsoft in page 2 of the thread - is that it (I haven't tried it)?
AND (consolidating my two posts):

I believe that is rubbish from the background of the page. Usually hidden source code stuff has a "<p>" in front of the hidden text.
It's rather striking, if it's rubbish. It's not the sort of thing you usually see in the source, and this is a really simple page. If it had one more digit I'd call it a phone number.

I wonder if it'd be a waste of effort to have someone look for Loki at the departure gate in Las Vegas, tomorrow night.
Edit: Or at least the terminal since gates are off-limits to those not flying.

The flights are as follows:
AW 291 Seatle to LV
SW 608 LV to Los Angles
AA 1308 Los Angles to Austin
UA 373 Austin to Denver
AK 394 Seatle to San Jose
All of them connect except that last one...
Check the second UA flight (the fax lists "UA 373/339") -- is that perhaps a change of planes in Denver getting her to Seattle? (Cuz otherwise they are all event locations, but not Denver)

OK, I've found the building in google maps, it's near the mcenery convention center but isn't the center itself...
one round corner, otherwise boxy, bordering s. almaden ave... no other building in san jose fits the description. Now... how do I take a screenshot?

edit: referencing above - San Jose's 3digit phone code is 409, I see it all over google maps.
edit 2: it is NOT the Adobe building, their map and the building I found on google maps do not match.

The second flight on that portion was Baltimore to Denver. I disregarded it due to the other connector being from Austin.
I found a number for the sony building (Former AT&T HQ) in NY. Tried using the 55654 but to no avail. You have to enter the last name. I also tried Kitsune to no avail either.

The 409 is
good
interesting [oops see Rogi's post below], but the next three numbers can't be 176 if it's a phone number. And we're still missing a digit.
AND re the flight times... someone else is flying in from Baltimore? Or Loki might make a side trip to Baltimore and has booked both ways just in case? Do the travel times match? Four hours from Austin to Denver seems long (if they're in the same time zone, 5 hours if not). But that would be six hours if it were the Baltimore flight and that is definitely too long.

Figures someone at neowin would know where the former AT&T building in San Jose is.
"Hi this is Loki . . . or, rather her electronic footprint left behind on this machine. Funny how the inanimate world retains traces of things long after they've disappeared, isn't it?
If you're calling about the murmuring rock project, it's on hold indefinitely. Unfortunately. <beep>"

If you notice, all of the VPG pages have a hidden viewstate field on them. It's basically just an artifact of the web creation. I suspect that if we were to gleam any substantial information from it, it would fully (and not partially) decode in Base 64.
Quote:
Viewstate is a page-level state that is used to hold the property values of the controls in a webform between postbacks. Viewstate is a hidden field that holds the values of the controls in an encoded form. The property values of the controls are encoded in Base64 and stored in the hidden field called __Viewstate. Viewstate can be enabled at control level, page level or at application level for all the pages.
edit because i sometimes forget words
