CLUE #5: Specs

Idea
Hello all. Re: the Clue title,"The Family Jewels" (have to Laughing grin over that one, eh) There is an old movie (1965), a comedy classic, starring Jerry Lewis, who plays six different characters. Here is a synopsis:

<<Lewis a control freak? As producer, director, writer, and performer of seven different roles in this patented comedy, Jerry does it all. A little orphan is about to inherit $30 million, and she must choose which of her six zany uncles (played by guess who) will be her guardian>>

The title song for this movie was "This Diamond Ring", by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. There is also a song with same title by Bon Jovi.

Was wondering..did Rev. give his wife a diamond ring? He states (Dec. 3rd), ...."so priceless as to remind me of the present i once gave my wife....."

FWIW

Solve, thanks to Charlie on noahboddy Yahoo!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Now begins week five.
To keep them alive you must understand this riddle:
Use the front of birthday the whole of one and 'mister' take the
middle.

Solved by taking the last word from each paragraph and reading them in reverse.

This gives us:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
birth (front of birthday) + st (middle of mister) + one (whole of one)

= BIRTHSTONE

After reading the FIRST spoiler, I immediatly had the answer....then I read the second spoiler and found it was QUITE different....

Taken in order:
Front of Birthday: B
Whole of one: ONE
Mister take the middle: S (yes, that's the bit that I'll concede falls a bit to pieces)

Giving you: BONES

Clue #5 STONES/BONES

Wow, guys 'n' gals,
I like both of your solves.

Remember all the "bones" in Push (slang for dice) and now we have "bones" in NB (there have been some references to dominos also called bones)

Guess we'll have to wait and see

The Rev mentioned the word "code" in reference to his previous journal entry. Although most of it looks like your standard *asdf*, there are certain atributes that stand out to me and that I've been fiddling with (to no avail...yet...lol)

For this part all that really stands out at me is the capital SDN
...and I traveledto the city of asdfasdf09832qq5sjsf avbzx9y8209yhlnf ;sdofklj23-4riwqef
0sdoifhSDNf.n23r[02prfmsd,lfmasdf

For the second part what stands out at me are the placements of the *u*. And the fact there seems to be spacing and possibly punctuation.

Maybe it signifies the beginning/end of a line that is decipherable.
I'm not counting the *l;kn;ln* because the keys are very near each other much like *asdf*.

l;kn;ln809459u45ijsdbf9-fuj3rsad'fk sdlkfnaegv34rthqwf
vasoidfja092u 34234u
sdjf aposdq2409u5asdfasfasf
aosdfi0 asdf-[asudf09u23
fsdas0d9fj023ewf

Kind of like a cryptoquote.

So we have:

*u*45ijsdbf9-fuj3rsad'fk sdlkfnaegv34rthqwf vasoidfja092*u*
*u*sdjf aposdq2409*u*
*u*23fsdas0d9fj023ewf

Take the numbers out:

ijsdbf fuj rsad'fk sdlkfnaegv rthqwf vasoidfja
sdjf aposdq
fsdas d fj ewf

With only the numbers:

1st passage
0983259820923-402302

2nd Passage
809459459-33409234234240950-09230923

As well as 2X, 45, 50

I don't know...just fiddling.

On ROT-21, although I don't have them grouped as a word, the first 4 letters and the last 4 letters are:

DENY..... EZRA (as in pharmaceuticals)

Brilliant ~Cem

I have been playing with this stuff too but not as successfully as you... there IS something there but don't know what yet Sad Ezra is a great starting point tho Razz

Mustn't forget he sez "i should be clever and hide everything inside a riddle:" (notice the punctuation Smile then he gives us the following riddle, "here is point a, there is point b, you must remember this"

Actually this kind of garbled text also appeared in the chat with Selene when she was "possessed". I don't think it's code of any kind, just random noise to indicate that the journal was taken over by the big creepy evil thing. Read the text in between the garble as being from someone else other than the Rev, and you'll see what I mean.
