Rest In Peace - Robert Anton Wilson

One of my all-time favorite authors and conspiracy theorists - Robert Anton Wilson - passed away today at the age of 74. I had the incredible honor and pleasure to actually meet him through the originators of the Ongs Hat mythos, whom I became friends with during my work on Chasing The Wish. His set of novels, The Illuminatus! Trilogy, co-authored with Robert Shea in 1975, still helps spawn some of the crazy ideas that my games and other works are based on.

The world owes him much and will miss him dearly.

His last blog post:

Quote:
Various medical authorities swarm in and out of here predicting I have between two days and two months to live. I think they are guessing. I remain cheerful and unimpressed. I look forward without dogmatic optimism but without dread. I love you all and I deeply implore you to keep the lasagna flying.

Please pardon my levity, I don't see how to take death seriously. It seems absurd.

I was saddened to hear of his death yet amazed he didn't die of an overdose.

Top bloke.
