text boxes

RedHatty wrote:
I found that the text in there was only either solved or unsolved. Select all then copy & paste into notepad (or whatever) worked for me

Actually the Text boxes don't belong to the puzzles, but to the underlying page. There are 12 of them (the one belonging to the watch spring puzzle in the upper left hand corner was missed by Nola), with text either solved, or unsolved, as seen when you hover over the dials on the login page. This can be checked, by moving the puzzle window, the textboxes stay fixed relative to the background window, and are the same for every puzzle page.

Oh, and hi everybody, great work you're doing here Very Happy

possible references

I have researched the internet about two tailed animals. Came up with scorpions, I tought the two boxes from Mantle Clock and Gears reperesent sylisized scorpion "parts". They resemble some kind of wings, witch led me to "manticores"...some mythological animals.
I searched a lot of symbol related sites but found nothing that resembles the white boxes.

Nice detective work. We'll see how any additional pieces fit in, but a manticore is an interesting guess.

Halo 2 Multiplayer flags come to mind... you know, the ones in everyone's profile that you can customize. I'll log on later to see if I find the double fish hook.

Petroglyphs?
Maybe it's just me...

Maybe it's just me but I'm thinking that the white boxes are pointing towards one of two things. Either something related to Nevada or one of the prizes.

The white boxes remind me of petroglyphs and it really wouldn't suprise me if they combine to point towards a new clue still in Nevada or a famous petroglyph where something could be found.

Upon closer inspection of the prizes, I noticed that the "tails" white box from the cuckooo puzzle looked similar to the "tail" end designs on the rocketplane.

Five tailed

Too bad there are 6 feathers, I saw a picture when searching for Kitsune - of a 5 tailed folklore fox named Kitsune. Maybe coincidental.

Ah yes but there is a theory going around that Loki is obsessed with the number 5, and the "Law of 5s".. where events and things happen in 5s.

New way to see the hidden items!
Follow below;

Something new I found; Skywriting was boring...so I hit the box as soon as it unlocked and was playing w/ puzzles....The Windows LIVE map server locked up sooo. I played around w/ the white box symbols, anddd....I found.

After loading each puzzle window, right click, choose "Zoom In", then right click & choose "print", watch the printer, when the top half finishes printing-just the actual puzzle window, then cancel print (or your black ink cartridge will soon be out of ink!).

All that will print from the puzzle window will be the hidden portion of the small square-minus the square! Except that first puzzle for box #2 wherein the fire in the fireplace window also printed black. I'll upload a sample later when I can. I don't think now that we will need the backgrounds or the boxes, but just the hidden item in black only.

So far, I have only found 9 again as listed above in the previous post and same count as Puzzle box #1. The screen prints blank if there are none there. Just saves hunting by hand/eye.

Just thought I'd mention it.

BTW, here are a couple of pic's showing how the items print out; Lousy photos but anyway...

Question for thebruce...
Are you clicking them or not?

thebruce wrote:

Reason why I ask is that using my "print method" of the puzzle pages, I did not find an item on the "Domino" puzzle page (though it sure looks like one there), and I have yet to click on the white box found up in the curtain area upper right. If you clicked it, did it disappear like the rest? I'll wait for your answer before clicking it.

So far it is the only one that hasn't printed properly on those pages containing one that you listed in this current batch of 12 puzzles (Box 2).

Strange. Sure wish now that I had access to a series of box 1 puzzles for someone that did not click the items. Might get a friend to register and see how those printed from the first series. Just to see if there were any pcs. that don't belong.

TY the bruce, got it I have 18/36 showing....At least we know we are supposed to click on them to collect them. Great pics of what is being collected.

cglrcng: yes, the white boxes all disappear once clicked... if you find one, make sure you do whatever you want to do with it before you click it =)

puzzle thought - if we have 4 weeks, and 9 'pieces' each, that's 36 - or 6x6. Might we be ending up with a 6 by 6 puzzle...?
