[Gray District] Library Puzzle [SOLVED]

I figure this will be a decent way to arrange puzzles for a while, until we think of a better system.

For Library, be very careful--if you submit an incorrect answer either twice, you become red (at least I did).

Check Project Gutenberg for the quotes, but here are the sources--do not trust online quote pages, as they are not always accurate.

Lord of the Flies (Golding)
Moby Dick (Melville)
Hard Times (Dickens)
Frankenstein (Shelly)
1984 (Orwell)
The Prince (Macchiavelli)

Once more--be careful, mistaken submissions can cost you your Green-osity.

Here are the missing parts.

EDIT: The database has been (presumably) modified to accept these answers. Adding spoiler brackets...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1. Lord Of The Flies:
Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man's heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.

2. Moby Dick:
and the White Whale's barbs were then tempered.

3. Hard Times:
force the people to be a people of fact, and of nothing but fact. You must discard the word Fancy

4. Frankenstein:
and desired and ardently prayed that I might have him within my grasp to wreak a great and signal revenge on his cursed head.

5. 1984:
White always mates, he thought with a sort of cloudy mysticism.

6. The Prince:
the experience of our times shows that the princes who have done great things

I've just had these definitely accepted:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1. Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man's heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.

2. and the White Whale's barbs were then tempered.

3. force the people to be a people of fact, and of nothing but fact. You must discard the word Fancy

4. and desired and ardently prayed that I might have him within my grasp to wreak a great and signal revenge on his cursed head.

5. White always mates, he thought with a sort of cloudy mysticism.

6. the experience of our times shows that the princes who have done great things

They seem to tally exactly with your answers, GuyIncognito, so not sure why it's not accepting them for you - unless you have some hanging spaces? Confused

I tried exactly the same answers twice yesterday and once this morning. Yet when I tried the same answers yet again this afternoon they worked Shocked

Hmm repeating the same thing and expecting different results....maybe I am insane.

Same here! Got my answers accepted. Exactly the same phrasing I (and echidna) have posted above.

Maybe it's wishful thinking, but didn't I read somewhere that they would modify and expand their database according to the submitted answers? Maybe on the page you get when your answer is rejected?
