Just in case the letters HJV are not a typo for KJV I have done a little digging to see what else HJV could mean in relation to the Bible. Turns out that hjv is Hebrew and is usually translated into English as worshipped, or some other form of the act of worshipping something.

For the Hebrew grammar look here on page 23 http://www.jonathanbost.com/docs/expaper.pdf

For the use of hjv within the Bible look here on page 42
http://www.bbaptist.org/which_version.pdf

I also thought that maybe HJ and V are the first letters of each answer respectively Question

Just to limit our list of suppositions, it's highly doubtful HJV represents anything in Hebrew--even if you use older forms of pronunciation, there is no "J" sound in the Hebrew alphabet. The closest sound would be the "Y" sound.

The verb you found reads "VaYeeshTaChu", given the root Vav (V)- Yud("J") - Hay ("H")--the reason it appeared to be HJV is this particular website decided to use the Hebrew right-to-left writing system for their root words. I knew a couple of the words on the chart, so I could verify that.

There may be another interpretation of KJV/HJV...I just don't think this one is it.

Personally, I think it does say KJV...I attached a close-up of the letter in question with an arrow pointing to the inward bend.

Totally totally OT but when i skimmed through the Bible Topics website, I just couldn't help laughing at the '1 Kings 13:28' reference. Very immature but what can you do

Seeing as nobody has posted so, the name of the old lion from the Lion King wasn't Mustafa. It was Mufasa.

Finally Solved!

OK, I just got the answer by a bit of luck.

We were right before about Hitler and Napoleon...it's the Old Lion that screwed us up.

Both of the two answers before were rulers, usually tied to prophecy. And how was Nostradamus' reputation as a prophet established?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
By predicting Henry II's death:
Quote:
The young lion will defeat an old lion in a duel.
The young lion's weapon will pierce the golden cage of the old lion.
The weapon will strike the old lion's eyes.
And he will die.

So the answer is Hitler / Henry II / Napoleon

Stupid me - I'd worked out the Nostradamus link a couple of days ago. I'd got the right answers for 2 and 3 but couldn't find a clear match for 1 so I'd given up on the Nostradamus angle Rolling Eyes . That'll teach me to follow though all my trains of thought.

Well done notgordian Very Happy .

Excellent work! Somehow I never even thought of the Nostradamus link...

Very nice work there. Hopefully solving all of these current puzzles will unlock some more for us to work on, unless there's some other form of puzzle in the website.

Lion of Judah
I realize this puzzle is solved, but...

Just wanted to point out that the Lion of Judah is actually Christ. You guys did a great job solving this one. Now if I can just get the stupid sodality puzzle to accept my answers the way I input them!
