Help me, I cannot stop stalking netthreats.org! New update mentions the code I screencapped (saying it looks like Base64 but translation has done nothing) and Ru-Mi's myspace. He also asks "How big is this conspiracy? (read: sarcasm) I'm sure they'll be more."

I feel really baffled. Why does the site keep reporting on BG even after being convinced it's a hoax or game? Is Stan Yoder interested, is he playing the game like we are, is the site ingame and trying to give us clues?

Looking over the netthreats site, I don't see where they've stated they think this is definitely a hoax. They say they're acknowledging the possibility, but nowhere do they say, "Yeah, this is a hoax, false alarm folks." With that in mind, continuing coverage wouldn't at all be out of place.

That said, the assertion that a federal agency is investigating it gives me pause. The idea in and of itself is completely normal. If this is real, it makes sense that federal agencies would be investigating it. However, the part that seems fishy is "not by the agencies one would normally imagine." It strikes me as being far too X-Files to be real. The agencies one would normally expect to look into this would be the FBI and possibly the CIA. No evidence exists for Homeland Security to get involved, and I highly doubt it's the CDC. I'm going to send Stan an email asking him for more information on the agency investigating the case, but if he can't provide any, I'm going to assume Netthreat is in-game.

If he in fact CAN provide some...well, we'll see what information is provided, I guess.

also, if this was real, wouldn't the person who found the unforums continue posting here?

however, if it's an arg, and they got a negative reaction from us to their acknowledgement that we are here, it makes sense they would go away.

Had another thought: Perhaps combining the Greek letters with the letters from the ASL will give us something? I'm going to attempt to do so now, but I've got no language training whatsoever, so I can't guarantee whether the result will be good.

I am eagerly awaiting what Stan has to say. You're right that he never says explicitly that it's a hoax, but my interpretation was that he was operating under that assumption. I could be wrong, though.

At first, I thought yes! But then, when you look at the profile in her pics, and the profile on the bike, her nose seems to be a little different, and the chin too. But then, I'm no expert, and they are totally different scenarios.

Okay, so it was the third video that had the craigslist mention and image. I was able to get an image of it. The image actually seems to zoom in on a certain area on the page, so that's what I grabbed. The quality isn't great, but I can make out a few words. Again, I'm not sure if it will help or has any relevance, but I figured it's better than nothing.

I'm not sure how much more helpful this is, but I messed with the levels and the brightness/contrast. It made some of it more legible, but I don't think it's anything that will help with the searching of craigslist.

How'd you figure out that's Ru-Mi's roomie? (Pun intended.) I took a look at the profile too, but I couldn't really see anything that made me think it was her.
