The name of the Big Ben picture is a clue for how to solve the message:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Taking the letter in each word that corresponds to its position in each line, you get:

He sits past that season repairing
impossible tests. Tests decoding
fictional things. These share
obvious advantages though
they supersede
strategy.

or: HISTORIES OF HERODOTUS

Here's what I found on Wikipedia using those key words:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herodotus_Father_of_History
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Histories_of_Herodotus (This one might be of better help)

Still, what are we supposed to do with this infomation? It would help if Britskull told us what we're to do...

Didn't get the mail Crying or Very sad

Still good work on the Big Ben solve.

1936 is a picture of the British Museum, London. Can't find any strong relevance to the 1936 though.

Just checking, there was no text at all on the mails?

Not as far as I know - the name of the "Big Ben" pic was "12345612341234123121.jpg", which is the clue to solving it.

1936? Not a clue. I'll dig deeper.

And the flag? Maybe nothing more than telling us it's british-related? (And why is this skull named for its location, and not for its color...mood... eh, never mind on that one, I think).

1936 strikes me as a year. Check out what happened at the British Museum then:

Quote:
Work begins on the Duveen Gallery to house the Sculptures of the Parthenon; funds offered by Lord Duveen 1928; agreement 1931; completed 1938; installation of sculptures begins 1939; opened following war damage 1962 (architect John Russell Pope(1874-1937)).

Taken from http://www.thebritishmuseum.ac.uk/visit/datelist.html

---

So... How does the 'Duveen Gallery' and 'Sculptures of the Parthenon' relate to the 'Histories of Herodotus?'

Edit:

Missy's blog has been updated.

Ha, I know I'm going way far afield here, but taking this from the Wiki on the Elgin Marbles (which is what the parthenon statues are called), here is an excerpt from "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage," by Lord Byron:

Curst be the hour when from their isle they roved,
And once again thy hapless bosom gored,
And snatch'd thy shrinking gods to northern climes abhorred!

I suppose, in a distant, distant, stretch, the skulls might have been removed from their proper and native place. But hey - that's because I'm tired and a bit loopy.

Herodotus points to Greece, and the Elgin Marbles came from Greece, so there's maybe some link there. but then, why the flag?

Or it could be we need to solve the picture clues, and then take capitals, or similar?

1: Histories of Herodotus
2: Duveen Gallery/ Elgin Marbles/ Parthenon sculptures
3: British flag/ Union Jack

What you are looking for is hidden. Hidden in a place that your naked eyes can not see. The other skulls have been to easy on you. This test will take you through 1667 years of puzzle in time. You must start with Herodotus.

Stegged pics?

I should say so - and I feel like a dork for not catching this sooner: "Herodotus mentions two examples of Steganography in The Histories of Herodotus"

(This from the Wiki on Steganography).

Now to find a program to decode it!

Many great men came from that time and place in history. Herodotus was the first recorded man in history to use the same thing you chosen few are searching for.

We are watching your movenents and you have overlooked the clues on two pages. Search again for the answers you seek you can not see.

And this is the email I got from Britskull:

Quote:

Your test is not over. You have just found your first clue. You must know more about Herodotus to move on. Mabe you should try Wiki again. It seems to always have the answers.

So here we go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herodotus

EDIT: the Unfiction Tools page has links to several steganography tools if anybody wants to try. They're all PC based so I can't use them: http://www.unfiction.com/resource/otools/

email I rec'd says

What are pictures? Nothing when you look closely, nothing but tiny boxes of colors. Pictures haven't helped the others find what is hidden. But if it is pictures you want, pictures you shall have

Okies, I'm not an expert with stegging but jpseek indicates none of the pics have been altered. Nothing shows with Camo without a password, however

could be pointing to a password, or it could just be pointing to the steg.

Herodotus was a great man, not only was he the father of history. He was also the far advanced for his time. The clues are right there in front of your eyes. But your eyes can't see them.
