[SPEC] "Feed Beef Face"?

Am following the "it's always best to start at the beginning" instruction from Eva's home page, especially given today's new email from Wilsonabout this being a long-term thing. In the early post about Eva's childhood, ...there is a slightly laboured paragraph leading up to this phrase, "Feed Beef Face!" (which btw appears nowhere else on the web but a Cisco tech manual that predates the game, but which could conceivably be being relied on as a lookup key (but I doubt it)).

Anyway, FEED BEEF FACE is conistent with being in hex, ie. in base 16. By which I mean, all the letters fall in the ABCDEF range. I'm neither numerate nor 16-fingered, but fortunately Thunderwolf was around in the IRC chat:

<Thunderwolf> actually, 65261 is just FEED
<Thunderwolf> BEEF is 48879
<Thunderwolf> FACE is 64206
<Thunderwolf> so altogether we have 65261 48879 64206
<Thunderwolf> if beefface is taken as a single word, the decimal is 3203398350

Do we have any use for such numbers? Anyone feeling more code-breaky than me? I tried emailing it to the core address, but got the usual error.

nearby in the Web: http://www.geocities.com/binary_converter/

EDIT: re-tagged, as this is actually spec about it being a puzzle at this point. yanka.

Good spec. That Beef face thing was in the back of my mind as a possible clue, but still no closer to finding anywhere to use it.

There may be a connection with www.welovebeef.co.uk though?

Fairly certain there's a link with welovebeef.

Speculation in IRC was that Dave and Pat would use the the welovebeef ARG to communicate things with us in order to hide them from whoever miught be watching

To avoid confusion, ... the address is http://www.welovebeef.co.uk/

...which btw Pat and Dave were talking about today, see http://www.timehole.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=6.0

Re beef references being connected, ... seems obvious. But what would it take?

Pat and Dave are concerned with Beef maybe because of the connection with Somerset farmland (Mr Chop's farm is in Somerset UK, ... ie. southwest of Bristol for those of you who don't live around here). In the Bunker on M.O.D land in somerset video, they're exploring Somerset and find a strong electromagnetic field, which seems actually to be the weirdest thing they've actually found.

Eva mentions Beef seemingly in connection to an anecdote about childhood. If it is hex coded, then either she composed the code, making the anecdote up. This makes her more deceptive and secretive and involved than anything we've yet seen would suggest. OR ... Kurt did in fact say those words, ... which is a nod towards some family connection, long history (mother's death, Wilson's many years... comment, etc.

There could be other stories explaining why she might post a code. Subconscious action (eg. affects of alien abduction, weird experiments etc.). Or a hacked website.

Or maybe it isn't a code after all Smile

Either way, ... it's hard to make the connection. If nothing is co-incidence, ... does the emphasis on beef come from (a) the fact that beef cattle is the business of the somerset farms near the suspicious MOD bases (b) that the word is picked by Eva (or years ago, Kurt) purely to encode something secretly.

Eva's mention of "beef" in her blog showed up prior to Pat and Dave arriving.
And neither party gives any hint that they've communicated before. It seems unlikely they got their obsession with somerset beef farming from reading that phrase in her Blog.

Ok, I'm rambling. By which I mean stumped. Cows might somehow be the root cause of both uses of the word, even if the Eva usage is a numeric code too, of course.

here is some stuff that might or might not help:

Code:
ASCII   HEX          DECIMAL
feed = 66656564 --- 102 101 101 100
beef = 62656566 ---  98 101 101 103
face = 66616365 --- 102  97  99 101

FEED = 46454544 --- 70 69 69 68
BEEF = 42454556 --- 66 69 69 70
FACE = 46414355 --- 70 65 67 69

*    = FEED     --- 65261
*    = BEEF     --- 48879
*    = FACE     --- 64206

* = ASCII characters that don't mean anything

Thanks. FWIW the way I was looking at them was paired up:

FE: (16* 15) + 14 = 254
ED: (16* 14) + 13 = 237
BE: ... 190
EF: ... 239
FA: ... 250
CE: ... 206

I've been thinking about the 'Feed Beef Face' thing for ages too, it's such an odd phrase to include. That and Voiphe the teddy.

I think a welovebeef connection is fairly likely, as Pat and Dave say "Nothing is a coincidence!"
