I've been getting lots of emails and not knowing exactly what to do with them. Some are helpful, some unintelligible, some want to play me like I'm a game. Some are just disturbing. It's kind of like having all these additional thoughts in your head. I once saw a film about how the earth was like a brain and the people living on it were the brain cells. The idea was that we're beginning to hook up into a single mind capable of understanding things we can't comprehend as individuals – sort of a collective consciousness. Maybe that's what this is or how it could be thought of: one mind trying to find its way. Anyway, I generally don't respond to the emails because it's likely that the person who created the videos is one of "you." Instead, I came up with this great idea.

FAQs:

Q: Are these videos real?
A: I hope not.
Q: You seemed to disappear for a while, what was that all about?
A: I was in the VA hospital for a few weeks. I'm better now.
Q: Is this a game?
A: To some for sure. Not to me. I don't want anything to do with it. But this gets back to us as one mind: it can be a game to you and a war for me. I'm not sure it matters. The important thing is… winning.
Q: Can I help?
A: "You" already have. I don't know anything about codes or puzzles - all that info has come from your emails.

I was under the impression that her apartment was in the City (Manhattan) somewhere from the way that she specified going to SoHo rather than refer to going Into the City as most people who live in Queens do. The outdoor shots also indicated a Manhattan location for her apartment, IIRC.

I've never been involved with an ARG before, so this might be completely off base.

New. *waves* Saw the vid and did a search. Wound up here and have been reading for a few days, figured I would jump in.

I tried to use Base64 but got nothing. I think it may be an ASCII85 code. Any input would be appreciated.

Hey I think we did a few posts back. Basicly it turned out to be a phone number with Morse code.

I'm going to email Eddie about Ironwheat's myspace. Will add info once I get a reply.

EDIT: I feel like I just got out of a chat with Hannibal Lecter.

[15:36] SamRey56: Hi.
[15:37] RhinoJock27: Hello to you!
[15:37] SamRey56: This probably seems kind of strange, lol. I've seen your screen name around and was kind of curious what all the fuss was about.
[15:39] SamRey56: So can I ask you a question?
[15:40] SamRey56: You there?
[15:42] SamRey56: Well, okay, I'll just ask the question and you can answer it if you want. Does the name ironwheat mean anything to you?
[15:46] SamRey56: Something wrong?
[15:50] SamRey56: Have you seen those weird videos on youtube?
[15:55] SamRey56: Hello?
[16:30] RhinoJock27: Ironwheat? Hmmm. That does have a farmiliar ring to it...
[16:31] RhinoJock27: I'm back from the post office now.
[16:31] SamRey56: Ah, okay. Yeah, ironwheat is the name.
[16:31] RhinoJock27: Strange coincidence...
[16:32] SamRey56: Coincidence? I guess the name does mean something, huh?
[16:33] RhinoJock27: Perhaps, but then again someone could read something into anything. Couldn't they?
[16:33] SamRey56: Very true. Of course, they say a picture is worth a thousand words...
[16:33] RhinoJock27: I wonder what a video is then?
[16:34] RhinoJock27: Hmm.
[16:34] SamRey56: Oh, quite a bit more than a thousand, I'd say.
[16:34] SamRey56: So showing you the picture is unnecessary, I'm guessing.
[16:34] RhinoJock27: Oh certainly not. I would be more than happy to view a picture.
[16:34] SamRey56: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=154171230&albumID=0&imageID=1853427777 That's ironwheat.
[16:35] RhinoJock27: Curious. I don't see anyone.
[16:35] SamRey56: Hmm, let me try a different link.
[16:36] RhinoJock27: Don't trouble your little fingers! I wouldn't want something to happen to them...
[16:36] SamRey56: Oh, my fingers are quite untroubled, I assure you.
[16:37] SamRey56: Thank you for the concern, though.
[16:37] RhinoJock27: Indeed.
[16:37] SamRey56: You say the name has a familiar ring to it, but I'm hoping the thousand words within this picture will jog your memory a bit more fully.
[16:38] SamRey56: Care to take a look?
[16:39] RhinoJock27: I'm up for everything~
[16:39] RhinoJock27: usually.

[16:41] SamRey56: Do you recognize her, then?
[16:41] RhinoJock27: I asked you first.
[16:41] SamRey56: Actually, no, I believe I asked you if you knew her first.
[16:42] RhinoJock27: No. I don't know who this is.
[16:42] SamRey56: I see. In that case, I don't know where I got it.

Wow. From a OOG standpoint that is kinda funny and creepy at once. Maybe I should try to talk to him if I catch him as well.

IG or OOG, the guy obviously thinks he can maintain some kind of power over others by behaving in a freaky, unsettling manner. As long as we make it clear we're not falling for his bull, he loses that power.

True. But somehow I wonder what will happen if we cross him too far IG, you know? I mean its okay to be firm but IG this could be situation where we lose in someway. I dunno I'm new to this whole ARG thing and I'm just following along to get the ropes.

Another thing I found pretty out there was his "I just came from the post office." It seemed to be something alittle out of the ordinary to say to someone who just messaged you out of the blue. Maybe another video for Eddie?

Yeah, that's a fair point. Handling psychotics is always a touchy matter. But I think it's good that he realizes he's not the one with the power. If this is supposed to be "fun" for him, he needs a challenge, and that means people need to take his power away from him and make him work for it.

oooor you can piss him off to the extent that we can say bye to rumi or our collegeboy. But hey, that's what makes dealing with psychotics so interesting, right?

So we just bend over and take it? Sorry, that doesn't fly with me. I know not to go too far, but I'm not going to let this guy run around on his powertrip. That's far more dangerous to Ru-Mi and our other cadre of victims-to-be. If the psycho gets a god-complex, they're really screwed.

Boy's Life Magazine has an online decoder that requires four digits to decode a message between two people.

I tried a few of the digits from the message and got nowhere. Perhaps because it's silly? But, it might be worth a try if anyone has the time.

This makes me think he doesn't like you.
