Has anyone ever read the Dark Tower Series of books by Stephen King? In one of them, he writes about this character that is being tracked down by evil forces. They post LOST CAT flyers up around the places that he has been to. The flyers would describe the features of the cat. The discription fit the guy thats being followed. They even went as far as saying that he answers to a certain name. They had the name wrong though........

Ah Hearts in Atlantis, & old Ted Brautigan who makes another appearance in the Dark Tower as a Breaker of the Beam Smile

I hope we don't end up with Low men in Low cars in this story Smile

Yup, I hope so too. I'm glad to see that there is at least one other fan of the Tower out there!

I recieved a response from Eric about membership

Hello there,

The UEC forum is locked for the next 21 days by official un-space directive.

Access is usually only granted at this time to those un-space explorers
who have tracked down a rare advanced copy of The Raw Shark Texts novel.

Do you have an advanced copy of this book?
Or. Do you want to join the UEC enough to lie?

We look forward to your response,

E Sanderson
UEC

So apparently there is a way to recieve an advanced copy which I see someone has. I respnded with I regret to say email. Maybe he will give a clue on how to recieve one. Very Happy

I got a response this morning from E. Sanderson with an early access to the forum. It is not game related yet. It is mostly discussion with the author. I wish I could get a copy of the book so I could join in because when the forum becomes open to everyone he said he will not be there that much. So I guess I will keep looking for a way to get an advanced copy or maybe preorder it.

Haha I got invited to the forum as well because of my "nice response" (I wished him luck in finding his cat in part of my message).

He also said this about the cat

Quote:
ps - I think the cat will show up. he aways does, one way or another....

Ok, just got another email from eric

Quote:

Hello Tyson,

Ahhhh... it all becomes a little clearer.

Well, the bad news is entrance to the UEC forum won't help you on your
journey I'm afraid. We are but a humble novel discussion forum - nothing
more, nothing less.

If you're having trouble with your journey, you'd be much better of
speaking to Scout on MySpace. She's the smart one. at least two thousand
times smarter than me, and one thousand times smarter than the cat...

Good luck,

Eric

anyone else find it kind of strange that he is saying the cat has more smarts than he does?

Eric's response

Hey all,

I sent Eric an e-mail a few days ago:

> I'm on the look out for things, and I need some help with my envelope
> issue.
>
> Do you know where I can go?

And this was his response:

HEy Shaynie,

You're in the wrong part of town (well, for now at least).
I think you'd be better off talking to Scout:
www.myspace.com/scout2000

Eric

The myspace account links to a bunch of ebay items: http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZscoutQ5f2007

As well as a variety of other newspaper links throughout their network.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Scout signed off as Clio in one of the post's on Eric's myspace account as well.

As well -- the ebay things have their own links going off from them:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The link from the ink blot test leads to a family tree over here:
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/

The password is on this site:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rorschach-Inkblot-Test_W0QQitemZ270087354957QQihZ017QQcategoryZ47103QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

From there we learn that Clio is Eric's wife; and there's a link to the http://www.theredcabinet.com/ next part of the flash game.

There's a variety of more links off of all of these things but I've got to run to work.

In the bottom spoiler is the answer to the flash game bit

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The password for the red cabinet site is Naxos
[/spoiler]

That page brings you to this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.theredcabinet.com/pdf/SharkFlickBookStevenHall.pdf which at the end has a bunch of addresses.

Only briefly looked at it since i'm at work, so not quite sure what to do with them...

Got my response from Dr. Randle on my personality test...not much there, but I'll post it anyways. I kind of want to do it again from another name and write in my answers, just to see what he'll say heh.

Quote:

OK, let's get started.

Hmm… two rows of shadowy people, you say. That's a very specific, kind of
menacing way of putting it. The crowd is a very potent symbolic archetype.
Do you find the crowd threatening? Do you want to be a part of it, or
apart from it? It's up to you whether or not the crowd is an asset or a
hindrance. Perhaps you will be more prepared to discuss this in the coming
weeks.

Moving on to blot number 2… Yes, you know, this one scared me a little bit
too. Normally I'd say a response like this is an indicator of some sort of
anxiety, but, well, I think this picture's a little bit on the freaky side
as well. Let's move on!

Believe it or not, feeling lost is a good thing! I mean, we can only
really learn about ourselves when we are lost. It's about self-discovery.
Embrace it and follow it; it will show you the way.

On to number 4, the last blot. You see… an explosion? Perhaps you are
sensing a cataclysmic change for you sometime in the near future. But for
good or for bad is anyone's guess. Come back in a week, maybe you'll know
more then.

Yours,
Dr Randle

Eric did email me back, and gave me access to the EUC forums. He also told me that Ian is his cat.

I have also noticed that it says Scout / Clio is dead. She died in 2004. She also has an updated myspace, and an ebay auction. In her post on myspace she says :

Quote:
(And E, if you're reading this – don't freak out, I've set up a field loop in the line, so all's good…I mean, 95%, all's good… and that's safe enough, right?).

seems strange. Also, on Eric's myspace. He calls himself the second eric.

Here is what i have compiled from what we have done so far.

Dr. Randle's Ink blot test

On her site she has an inkblot test. I took it and left her E-mail address. This is my response:

OK, let's get started.

Well, you see a moon above a calm sea. Good. The sea can often be quite
threatening. I mean, just take that movie… what was it called… "The Big
Bad Sea"? Actually, I don't see too many movies. I like to read. But
anyway, it seems like you have a calm and comfortable relationship with
the sea, a symbol for your immediate, lived environment.

Ahh. The second inkblot image instills in you a sense of the unknown. It's
all right that you don't know what the image means. In fact, I believe
that the realization that we do not know everything is important
prerequisite for individual growth. I think this is real progress for you.

Nothing? Fine, but you know, you have to trust yourself that your mind can
make conclusions without your ego. Only then can you begin to unpack the
secrets you've hidden for yourself in the depths of your subconscious.
Don't be afraid to probe the limits of your reality; that is where your
memory will begin to reconstruct itself.

The last blot. You said… a shark's mouth? Open? Like it's going to eat
you? I'd say that this is some sort of anxiety complex. A fear of violent
bodily harm, perhaps? Well, I can't say that this is out of the ordinary.
I mean, really, who isn't afraid of a shark's mouth? But I sense there is
something a little bit more specific here. Let's probe this image more
deeply next week.

Yours,
Dr Randle
