[INTERACTION] Father Beck

Since the original thread for this is getting rather large and confusing with the mixture of characters, I thought it would be a good idea to separate the characters out. I have a feeling each character thread will get pretty big.

I sent this to Father Beck in an attempt to find out a little more about the man behind the con.
Quote:
To Father Beck: Dear Father Beck

My names is James Stone, and for what it is worth, the system labels me green. A while back you posted "I'm not sure we should trust green", whay is that Father? May I also ask what do you believe is the duty of mankind? How are we to structure ourselves both now and in the future?

Thanks in advance

James

His reply was:

Quote:
Father Beck says: I recall no such post - it would be prejudiced and of poor taste my son!

I'm sure that you are either mistaken or there was some sort of database error. In fact I'm quite sure that's what it was... a mere database error!

Be well.

I know this guy is dodgy, but I don't want to upset him and stop him from giving away info, "Feed the Pig" as it where.

Quote:
To Father Beck: Dear Father Beck

My response is not one of accusation or spite. The glitch in the system is still present. The post is still publicly available here: http://www.deuscity.com/forum.php?request=show_thread&thread_id=4

in the forums of the Digital Image Building in the White District. In case the one who posted the message has access to read the messages between you and I here is a copy of the post complete with time stamp:
Be careful (01/15/07 at 12:31 PM) by Father Beck
I'm not sure we should trust green

Be careful Father Beck

James

Lets see how he handles it.

Seems he handles it just like this:
Quote:
Father Beck says: Ah yes. A glitch indeed my son, for I was not even a part of the interface until many days later. Father Ziod who is much more knowledgeable about these things has suggested that perhaps there was a duplicate agent ID number which is responsible. I'm sure that that is all it is. Be well.

Who? Never heard of a Father Ziod and a quick search pulled up nothing. And your trying to tell me that a system as powerful and complex as the Deus City Temporal Interface allows duplicate ID numbers?

I still claim that he's a dodgy fella.

Try calling him Farquar and mention your love of Shrek, see what that produces =)

Father Ziod seems to be the head guy of the church. I've had Beck mention him to me aswell.

As for him being dodgy: I really really suspect he's an impostor of some sort. I've heard conflicting reports about him, and I've contacted cfreak (as posted in the "new characters" thread) who said something was up. But I still think it's wise not to confront him, instead to stay back and see what we can find out from other characters.

I don't think we'll be seeing much of Beck for a while now. Check the Foo thread.

Interestingly, I got this from cfreak aswell. May as well put it here, since it's still regarding the Beck thing.

cfreak wrote:
Congrats on your promotion! I wasn't really supposed to see the report but I "aquired" a copy. Beck sounds like he was a real piece of work. Glad they got him.

I replied...

Quote:
I have you to thank. Without your going into the database, and looking up the account, I wouldn't have had any evidence to present.

Does the report say exactly what position I've been promoted to? I've obviously noticed my karma, prestige and credit changes, but I haven't been notified of any official status.

This is the standard confusion.

Cfreak in the forums is chris@fundi, who works for Foo and runs the site.
Cfreak@gmail is Chris in teh forums and is opposed to Foo.

And Father Beck has become an un-person. Well, we still hear of him, but he's chronically not living.

And he never answered the message I sent him! Fudger!!!!! Kinda sucks to lose a plyer, but it is nice to know that we can "kill off" characters in a sense. I read the post on DC that Beck put up and he put up another one.
Quote:
A simple data error. (02/05/07 at 10:18 AM) by Father Beck
It has been brought to my attention by the faithful that an erroneous data error in the above board is causing much strife among the congregation. It is a matter of some concern to me to be sure.

I assure you that it was not I who made such a lewd post, it was suggested to me that it had something to do with duplicate numeration.

But if it is any consolation to you, I say this: We should NOT trust green - nor should we trust red nor any other color! In fact we should be united in love and trust and our own unique truths and bonded regardless of arbitrary color classification systems. Amen.

Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions regarding this or any other matter.

fudger's dodgier than Clinton was about getting a (ok, i'm gonna stop there. I'm still hung over a little and my thought patterns are cruder than normal- my apologies)

[TIAG]Darnit! As soon as i encounter a character who seems to be having the same views as me state-sponsored terrorism kills him off. Some fall that was. He was the only character I could seem to be able to ally with.

For those of you saddened by Father Beck's loss, Father Ziod just made an appearance in the Holy United Church--so you've still got a man of the cloth to help. Just not a fake one this time.
