I was lookng for some arg videos on youtube and came across this instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7rML01g7vU I was just wondering if it was a viral campaign for some game as that's what it struck me as.

Lol! Maybe a reeeally long shot. But I doubt it. I was just browsing with various odd tags to see if I could come up with anything of interest. Although, I did try to find anything on Alvize Island and came up with nada. That's why I was thinking viral advertising. Like "experimental facility has lost control of it's monster bugs and you have to go shoot them all before they invade the rest of the planet." The one poster on YT said it reminded him of Starcraft and it reminded me of Starship Troopers.

Edit: Oh, apparently it reminded you of it too XDXD

Then it has to be a sequel to Starship Troopers after all. Oh, wait, there *was* a sequel (straight to video?). And a British TV series. And there are numerous video games.

Yeah, that comment *was* from me. How many other "konamouse" do you see on the internet?

Aha! They're about to start filming a Starship Troopers 3, for release in 2007. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844760/ Sounds like the culprit to me.

That link to "Starship Troopers: Marauder" has a (V) after it... does that mean a direct-to-video trashy movie?

yep. Look at low-budget "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation" (2004)(V) -- i guess they never bothered with a theatrical release.

(VG) after a title is for video game, and (V) in an actor's credits means voiceover.

Yeah (V) after a movie title means it's being released straight to video. However, Casper Van Dien is supposedly returning, so maybe it won't be a total loss.
