Whoohooo!! Got it!! Very Happy

Three things...a pretty generic looking ticket, "Rules of Boat", and and an odd, rambling thing about poker players.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The rambling doc has caps that will lead to to the blog link already mentioned below.

I just signed up, they said it was fine with no extra shipping fee to Canada. Had to put my entire address in the 2 address lines, but I'm in. Not sure how closely I'll be following, but hopefully enough to have fun and be somewhat involved Smile

VoxDiaboli has an update with an audio podcast up to listen to - I don't have time to get to it now, but thought I'd mention it.

I was wondering when we would hear something. The podcast gives some interesting history about Parare, it's politics, and why Boat is so important. The tournament determines who will be Major for the following year.

There's also some background to the outsiders, Sheila, and Scott.

...oh and there's a plea for people to send in new jingles for the radio show.

EDIT: Mabel has replied to a couple of posts in her blog, but apart from that this is a really slow starter...

EDIT2: Got my mail today, so I'm all ready to go...

Has anyone tried contacting Conelrad via the email he gave in his podcast? (conelradSPLATvoxdiaboli.com). I finally emailed him today. But yeah, slow start.

There were a few things that caught my attention that I asked about....the bathroom incident, Sheila (I think it was her, at least) and Scott's conversation that tic'ed off Mabel, the tax issue. There are a list of other things I'd highlighted from her blog, but I suppose it's not a bad idea to let this unfold a bit before deciding what to look for.

Maybe they are giving everyone time to get their mail cause it might be important to know how to play boat first??.... idk.. but I agree..... Very slow.

Can we get this moved to an ARG?

Two new sites
http://www.threeoaksbnb.com/
http://www.boattournament.com/

Have tried Boat and have to say I'm rubbish so far. Haven't won any money at all, I'll be broke soon!

Yeah, I'm still not clear why the Studio Cypher sub-forum can't be reinstated. They've run 3 successful games, which are all in there, I just don't get why a 4th would a) have to prove itself, and b) be somewhere seperate?

Anyways, the blog gives us a route to communicate with Sheila, and there's an entry from James, who works for the IRS, who I assume is Scott...or am I getting confused already?

I can't access the boat tournament site, how did you get the username/ password? (if it's in the podcast I can't access that just now).

The username is the one you use for Studio Cypher and the password is your ticket number.

Agreed, it's rather bizarre that the sub-forum for the previous games hasn't been reinstated. And gah, lost my first Boat game to someone with a slightly better full house. Confused

edit: and won the second! Cool
edit: and over 1000 chips!

Well, that was interesting...

I would doubt that James and Scott are the same person. Enough people know him (and apparently the tax guy) to make it tricky for him to pull off that kind of ruse. However, who knows what's possible in a town that somehow fades off the map after the tournament...??

Which, brings to mind something that Mabel said in her first blog about not being able to respond to blog comments for five years???

Now, to see how well my poker skills translate to boat...this should be amusing! Rolling Eyes

Moved Thread

Hey Guys - I've moved this to ARGs with Potential so you can branch out into more threads while I tinker around trying to de-archive the old forum :p

Five minutes later - oof. That was easier than I imagined! Let me know if things are wonky or you need help!
