Other than probably spending way to much time trying to puzzle it out, I don't have anything to do with the making of this video. Honest. I am guilty of trying to get anyone who even seems remotely interested to try and figure out what's up with these clips.

I wouldn't say that they scare me. They have "unnerved" me however. I admit I would feel a whole lot better if I knew that they were just part of a game, or a prank. It probably is just an overactive imagination, but part of me really feels that something deeper is going on with these clips.

I agree. It's already been well established that the origional story of a video hijacking is a hoax.

I'm just a dude waiting for his work visa to come through who's got too much time on his hands. Plus, I'm not that creative. But, like OJ, if I were to have made these clips, and this is an ARG or message of some kind not just some art-school freak out vid made for a semester film class, I would put the information in as I've described. As a series of tones, maybe linked to the images.

Rereading that, I think I've made myself more not less of a suspect.

 		Well, if he is the creator of these vids, youcanwatchnow's posting on this forum indicates that either:

A. This isn't an ARG.

or

B. He hasn't read/doesn't care about the ToS.

Still, it's good that he's paying attention to this. I dunno what's next. I've PMed the YouTuber who put up the 2nd video, but I'm not sure where that will lead.

EDIT: I take past the part about it not being a viral. I looked at the Snopes thread, and someone mentioned that it might be a viral for The Ring Three coming out next year... Would certianly explain the frequency of the number 3.


And if it is a viral campaign? Look at Vanishing Point or the Lost Experience or I Love Bees. Just because its viral advertising doesn't mean that it can't make a fun arg. Besides, I would sort of expect a different type of scary video if this was for the Ring 3.

It makes no difference either way, provided it's an ARG after all. There's also the possibility that it's all marketing and no game. Just trying to rule out possibilities.
