so, I gotan e-mail too, only mine wasn't too nice. can't quote directly yet, i'll fix this. Effectively said they thought I was the one that caused the grid disruption. Jumpy buggers, aren't they? Understandable though... I'd be that way in a crisis like that.

Anywho, i've already got skype, and'll throw some cash at it when i get home. Voice id was never so easy...

I'm a little wary of the AIDaniel. the way it is inserted into the post is suspicious. AIDaniel may be a ploy by the "things" to get us to trust them and give up conor's location. I emailed Conor to try to learn for sure.

Yes, there's some kind of sickness going around, people are turning on each other. You saw the lights too? We're pretty sure they came down near a place called Carlingford. We think that's the source, or somewhere in the area at least.

We have to stop this madness before it gets out of hand.

Run a couple of names through the skype network. You never know who (or what) might turn up.

OK - steg detect gave me nothing on the picture. playing around in photoshop gave me nothing. I'm kind of new at this, so maybe i'm doing something wrong.

The email mentioned that the craft landed around Carlingford near some sort of grave. The Carlingford homepage says

Prehistoric burial chambers, eh? Possibly relating to the theory that the first extraterrestrial visitations to Earth were in the form of the so-called "Ancient Astronauts" that are often depicted in the artwork of various cultures of primitive man. Given that things seem to be happening in Ireland, it could also be related to the various beliefs about faeries and other supernatural creatures.

Interesting note: Alien abduction phenomenon frequently involves creating a hybrid. Old fae myth has it that the faeries would come, take a baby, and replace it with a baby that looked just like the one they were kidnapping, only this baby was at least part fae. Parallels can be pretty easily drawn there.

(Note: My research of these subjects does not indicate belief/disbelief in them. Just so it's clear, so I don't get labeled the crackpot of the forums. XD)

The idea of the ancient astronauts can maybe be extended a bit. Mounds similar to and including Newgrange, according to Celtic mythology, are known as Sidhe (Fairy-mounds) and were the homes of the Tuatha de Danaan who legend says arrived in Ireland "on dark clouds." Maybe like the mysterious discs mentioned on the website?

Also, the sun of the Winter Solstice shines through the passageway at Newgrange at sunrise. While this is not uncommon, Newgrange is unique in that the sun shines through a "roofbox" above the door. The Winter Solstice occurs around Christmas: the time when it was "too dangerous" for us to contact Conor.

Also, the Tuatha de Danaan are named after their supposed "mother", the goddess Danu. Danu means swift and is also present across Celtic Europe and even Hindu mythology.
