has anyone checked up on the spanish-speaking person who posted the "this is having worldwide repercussions" on youtube?

not calling him or anything, just checking his background.

Esteed-

Damn that freaks me out just to read it.... This is VERY creepy. Hmmm... definitely weird. May have to call myself and record it if I can find a decent mike.

edit* I'm checking on the spanish-speaking person, but youtube is running very slowly for me right now.

googling cory wolfe got me to this

http://www.thiswasme.com/view.asp?First=CORY&Last=WOLFE

scared the hell out of me but then i read this at the bottom:

Come on people, get a grip, do I have to spell it out, its not real, it supposed to be a bit of humour, all names are randomly generated, as are the pictures, so to actually get a name that looks like the real person is pretty cool / spooky !!!

A search for Cory Wolfe Wyoming gives me this:

(307) 473-2784
1099 Sierra Vis
Evansville, WY 82636

I'll give calling it a shot.

I called back and recorded it as best I could. The beeping is faint but it should still be audible.

The Cory Wolfe number has been disconnected. I'm not sure if I should be relieved or creeped out more....

i'm inclined to think the page i linked to is merely a coincidence. the site is a random composite generator. but i dunno, it fits so well with the theme of these things... this is truly astonishing.

Not a DTMF tone. Not even close.

I thought you may have heard a fast busy ringback, but that's not it.

Don't know what that is.

I'm going with the latter for now.

What was it Lovecraft said about fear of the unknown? 'Cause I think he was right.

It is, but almost too perfect. The site seems to be UK based as well, and there's been no mention of that yet. This is one truly elaborate hoax or someone's idea of a sick joke. I'm not thinking ARG anymore (granted this is my first one) but this doesn't seem like a game, more like a sociological experiment.

User who posted the cryptic message earlier.

I don't speak spanish so checking out his 21 videos didn't seem worth it (though the two I watched seemed to be typical youtube fare.)

Links to a homepage that redirects to

Seems to be from Argentina (.ar address) and probably a dead end, but we'll see.

Oh, and that DEFINITELY sounds like the hospital heartbeat monitors. But would be interested to see a spectrograph of the last bits to see if it is real fast morse code. Sucks that the phone is disconnected.

Check out the most recent post on the blog. Why are certain words capitalized? Interesting.

As an aside...

The backend on my website is freaking out. It's now warned me that a DoS attack is in progress based on my past traffic history.

Good job people!

I checked him out too, didn't seem like much. There's also a message from someone in this thread, that might have been the same person. Me being in Japan could be the "worldwide" that he is talking about.
