So are we thinking someone is actually going to get a video from this guy? How would we go about posting that for other people to see?

I'm thinking he'll email individual people links to videos online. Since all the previous videos have been online for months, I assume more are as well. I sure as hell ain't giving him my mailing address, though.

Lol, he could find mine through my blogger profile. And yeah, emailing links would sound sensible, but he says no one person can aqcuire a video the same way, so I'm iffy about that. I think it's possible that he may actually email someone that volunteered a video, in an attachment or something.

EDIT: Oh, you meant street address. Shit, yeah, if he needs that he ain't getting it from me, either.

well, we'll just have to see, i guess. btw mystery man if you're reading this, my email is patersonrick[at]gmail.com. i forgot to include that on your blog. my coworker played your first video over studio speakers here at the office just now and it got my eyes to vibrate lightly. could have been placebo effect, though.

sign in
happy cube

Perhaps there is a way to sign into one of the happy cube accounts. There could be private messages or more info.

Under the "Am I Gay" topic one of the posters talks about his password??

Hi. I've been lurking here awhile, and thought I'd join in on the discussion.

I'm officialy scared s***less. I registered at the happy cube board; and immediatly regretted it. I mean, on the extremely, extremely minute chance this is real, I don't feel lke getting hacked to bits by a bunch of psychos with chainsaws or hammers or...

But I regress.

I just thought I'd point out that cubing appears to be anouther reference to the number 3. As in, puting a number to the third power.

Just a thought.

ok well i just searched the wayback machine (http://web.archive.org) and there are no records of either the cubing forum or the blog previous to 2007.

i'm 1/2 disappointed and 1/2 relieved.

there's still the question of why the videos have been online so long but i think this pretty much proves the forum and blog are hoaxes.

i'll keep researching though.

excellent point about cubing and the relation to 3, btw.

EDIT: I am realizing now that the wayback machine doesn't *always* find results accurately. I tried searching for two forums/blogs that I know have been around since 2003 and got no results. Back to square one I guess!

Okay, I think I've just figured out why this, whatever it is, is definitely not real. Aside from the apparent 'storyline' coming out (even the 'backstory' on the forum, for example), there is one technial aspect of the forums that shows us that it is, in fact, a game.

Note that words are censored, like kill and dead. (Changed to hug and sleeping, respectively.) This would keep the police away from the site. However, they are surrounded by a 'filter' tag-ish thing. If the small group of members knew the code words, why would they need the 'filter' around them? All it does is draw unnecessary attention to those words. It's not a normal code that would go on a message board.

After thinking about this, I feel fairly confident continuing in this game. I will continue not to participate in the interactive parts of it, but I'm fairly certain now that this is, in fact, an ARG. I guess the PMs are just surprisingly well-thought-out. Smile

You might want to try the Robert Vreugdenhil number again.

I just called and someone answered, but my cell phone died before I could get a word out.

hate to break it to you, but filter tags automatically go around a censored word whenever a mod types it. well, at least on older proboards. i haven't posted on a proboard forum in years.

and yeah, everything except the last post in the blog has been changed.

edit: oh, and new members. that's a measure taken so that any new rulebreakers can be spotted cursing without the forum filters hiding it.

I don't think so.

I frequent a Proboard that's even older than this one (supposedly) is and it dosen't use tags like that for censored words.
