It doesn't warrant another thread yet I don't believe but there is also another site that Magnolia owns and was created at the same date as the M-A-R-A.org one.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://civilizationmutation.com/
There's really nothing useful as it probably shouldn't have been found yet. None of what looks like should be links are clickable.

Edit:
BTW I emailed MARA, we'll see what they say

Slack Farm

Sorry for the double post but I thought this was important enough.

About Slack farm:http://www.mc.maricopa.edu/dept/d10/asb/anthro2003/archy/pothunting/
But more importantly! There have been bigfoot sightings there! http://www.kentuckybigfoot.com/counties/union.htm

Quote:

Union County - near Uniontown on Dyke Rd. - 1999
Investigator and wife exploring area known as the Slack Farm came across the carcasses of 10 or 11 pigs torn to shreds and scattered around area next to small creek. None of the meat was eaten. The area has history of monster sightings and is located on one of the largest concentration of indian burial mounds in Ky. The mounds were desecrated a couple of years previously. The public outcry garnered national attention and many native americans journeyed here to hold ritual ceremonies for the re-internment of over 800 bodies back into the burial site.

So maybe this recovery service found something very VERY interesting at Slack Farm?

Because Slack Farm was in the MARA records? I'm sorry, should it be somewhere else? I mean it's connected to this and to the Envelope Under the Door and Packages/Grids. New thread?

Did you get that directory listing by going to www.m-a-r-a.org/locs/ ? If so, it seems that that directory is no longer allowing its contents to be listed.

For whatever its worth, I went ahead and decompiled the flash movie (mara.swf) and there aren't any surprises. Everything seems to be doing what it's supposed to, and all of the button links are consistent.

Well yesterday they weren't separate links and today they are.

Also, Matt calls attention to one of the pics in a MHC post.

Quote:
The 25th Infantry came to mind as I kept reading this, but that's probably because I just saw that image on the M-A-R-A site with that in it.

I can't find any clear indication that the 25th was stationed at Clark Air Base around 1966, though.

If they had enough people going through the Jungle Survival Training course, a given unit might have "appeared" to be stationed there.

So, I had emailed Nate to see if I could get the info to get into the Slack Farm file & Hey! I got a reply (for all the good it does) Hacker Time Smile

Quote:
RedHatty,

Hello, do I know you?

No introduction, no explanation, not even a "I'll show you my files if you show me yours".

You know, between me and you, all of those files and pictures on our site are supposed to be for clients or prospective clients only. Ted, God rest his soul, set the whole shebang up so that we could show off our victories, and also just as a record of what we had found and brought home, since most of it was handed over to the people who paid us to find it in the first place.
But with Ted and Frankie gone and this world the way it is, none of it really seems to mean much anymore, so I really wouldn't mind letting you see what's in the file for the location you asked about.

So, if I could just remember the log in stuff you need to see it, you'd be all set. I've got the worst memory for stuff like that. If I didn't have the email address password written in my shorts I'd never have been able to answer this to start with. Ok, yeah, I'm kidding about the shorts. You see, Ted handled all that stuff, setting up the web site, the pictures on it, heck, even the business itself, years ago. Since he's gone I'm lucky if I can get into the damn thing myself, well, without the list of passwords I've got back home.

I can tell you this in the meantime, though. The name, the user or account or whatever, is based on the name of the place where we recovered the artifacts, in abbreviations, you know? The other part, the password, usually had something to do with the items we recovered there. Ted set it up that way, he said, so even computer dummies like me could remember it. Fat lot of good it did.

If I remember to when I get back home I'll pop you off a message with what you're looking for. Sending me a reminder probably couldn't hurt.

Nate

I got the same email (well, plus some curmudgeonly stuff complaining about my hard-to-read email address).

I wonder if the passwords are going to be stuff like gasmask, bugle, flighthelmet, freqmeter, etc...

Email exchange with Nate of M-A-R-A:

I wrote:

Nate,

Hey there. I'm sorry to bother you again, but since I
haven't heard from you I thought that I would give it
another try. To help you understand what I am
interested in, here is a website that you should go
to:

www.rainbowofdeath.com

As you'll see, it was put together by a guy named Matt
Wheeler as a way to understand what happened to his
grandfather and father, both of whom disappeared in
southeast Asia. Matt's grandfather was sent to Nahkon
Phanom in the 60s to work on a project that involved
Agent Yellow. Do you know anything about that?
Apparently one of his superiors as a "Dr. Genero" who
had something to do with Operation CHASE, which was
involved in dumping toxic chemicals offshore. I think
that it is really important to learn more about what
happened to Matt's grandfather, which is why I'm
hoping that you will help.

If you know of anything or remember the passwords to
the artifact listings on the M.A.R.A site, let me
know.

All the best,
Dan

Nate wrote:

Dan,

Thanks for the heads up about that website. I haven't had time to check it out yet but I will soon, I promise.

Your about the twentieth person today that has written me and asked me about this "Dr. Genero" and Operation CHASE. CHASE was an acronym for CUT HOLES AND SINK 'EM, a program the government conducted covertly beginning back in WWII and running up through the 1980's, in which they dumped tons of toxic chemicals into the oceans of the world. Now, I'm hardly one of these tree-hugging environmental wackjobs, but that just ain't right. As far as I know, no one has ever been prosecuted for the whole damn thing, and who knows what those chemicals have done to our water since then. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the reason people are just so freaking crazy these days.

Now about this Genero character. I think we came across that name a few times in our past missions, including once in Japan where it was somehow connected to a classified Chinese folder we recovered from underneath what is now the Tokyo Airport. When I have time I'll tell you that tale - it's a doozy.

Once I get back home, I'll see what else I can find and share with you. I'd do it now but I'll be damned if I can remember what the password for that location might be. Actually I need to check the user name too, since Ted always used the location as the name for logging in, but you never knew quite how he was going to abbreviate each one. You know, something easy like Goose Bay Labrador is pretty easy to guess - GBL - but when you start getting into multiple words, names, states and so on, who knows what Ted choose?

Anyway, this old man who is rambling so I guess I'll sign off for now. Maybe I'll go check out that website. Rainbow of death, eh? Sounds like my kind of place.

Stay in touch.

Nate

So, one of the locations on M-A-R-A is "Haneda Air Base, Japan" which apparently was the location of the Tokyo Airport. So something like "HABJ/folder", perhaps?
