** THE RECEDA CUBE HAS BEEN FOUND! **

After two years of searching, solving and shoveling, the Cube Hunters of Earth
finally uncovered the location of the Receda Cube at 12.30pm on 4 February,
2007.

One lucky Cube Hunter - Andy Darley from Middlesex (username: astro_random) -
will now claim the £100,000 reward. Says Andy: "Of all the 50,000 players, from
all these different countries, I never thought for a moment I would be the
person to find The Cube. I was playing for the puzzles, and the stories, but it
wasn't until only a few days ago that I thought I was in with a chance. As I
pulled the Cube from the sticky, wet clay, and even afterwards I was waiting to
return The Cube, all I could think about was how bizarre the whole thing really
was."

Reportedly, the Receda Cube itself was buried in Wakerley Great Wood, near
Stamford, Northamptonshire. Mind Candy is now hard at work, arranging for the
Cube to be returned to the grateful citizens of Perplex City...

A whole new version of PerplexCity.com launches tomorrow!

And boy, do we have some treats in store for you. There's a really quite
fetching redesign, for starters, and we think you'll find the whole site much
easier to use too. On top of that, we're going to be releasing free, bonus
puzzles on our website. That you can solve! For points! Good, eh?

Do bear with us, though. There's a whole new design perched upon a whole new
database, and we'll be tweaking things and adding features for the next couple
of weeks. We'll be doing our best to keep you updated regarding all our planned
improvements on the new site itself... that we can't link to yet... because the
site isn't live yet. Do you see?

That's right - the first wave of Season 2 of our puzzle cards is released on
March 1st, available from a store near you. They're as awesome as ever, and this
time around each pack comes with a bonus warm-up card to get your grey matter up
to speed. And we know what you're thinking - this time around, what's on the
back of the cards? You'll have to buy some to find out...

** LEADERBOARD: MAC_MONKEY, TALLY ARE THE CHAMPIONS! **

Season One has drawn to a close. And thereby, it gives us profound pleasure to
crown mac_monkey and Tally as King and Queen of the Leaderboard respectively,
tying for first place on a mind-melting 15,750 points. Our admiration, thanks,
and congratulations to these two, the sharpest of all solvers. May your names
enter the annals of Perplex City history...

Incidentally, the Season One Leaderboard will remain open for the time being,
allowing you to earn points from Season One cards and climb the ranks. That
said, it's having a brief rest, so for now you'll just be able to view your
point score and rank on your profile page.

Season 2 will see how a whole new leaderboard take center stage, with all
players starting at nil points. Just like a football season, it'll be a whole
new competition to embark upon - we hope this sounds fair to you!

of the REALLY hard cards. What, are you too cheap to buy them?
Or just too stupid to solve them? You'd better get your arse in gear
