maybe it makes you need the toilet, that's why he keeps going back in...

anyway as to freeing him, I can't see any poker hand names that tie in with oreder <> chaos. I'm still sure it must be cards though.

Mabel has replied on her blog:
Quote:
Thank you, Tesseract and Red Hatty, that did the trick. I got that vision in my head once again, and now it's a hand showing four fingers, and the voice spoke again. "My world spins out of control. You did it. You spun me! The fates are unbound, and I cannot see. Stop the spinning!"
looks like the card trick did the err trick..

So I'm guessing we will have 5 puzzles to solve in total here, i.e. 5 fingers 4 fingers etc. Yay for puzzles!

So I'm thinking this could be a move away from cards to slot machines? My google-fu isn't coming up with anything on spinning cards other than throwing them, and that isn't about stopping the spinning.

I posted my guess of a roulette wheel or the ball in the roulette wheel on the blog. I would think that cards would still be used, but as of right now I can't think of anything card related that fits this puzzle.

Maybe it's talking about the Tarot card "Wheel of Fortune"?

Nice work Aislyn!

I found a card game called relationship tightrope which has relationship or balance cards and seems to be about restoring balance so I have posted to Mabel.

Did some google searches and found a "Restore Balance" card in the Magic:The Gathering card series. So posted that suggestion on Mabel's blog.

Hmm...no updates yet. I didn't post this before, since I figured we probably wouldn't have two tarot cards in a row, but there is a tarot card that could fit here. The Two of Pentacles is about balance, and sometimes the juggler in the card is balancing on a tightrope. I'll post it in Mabel's blog just in case.

Still no update... either Mabel's been caught, or she's having a good laugh at Scott repeating on himself and isn't in a rush to free him!

I am pretty sure that updates happen every Tuesday and Thursday.

but that's "major updates", if they were going for realism then Mabel would be on chasing us for answers as she's so concerned for Scott.

I suspect [TIAG] that they will draw this out until the poker site is working how they want...

And we have update, looks like it was the Magic card. And the chip still has control over Scott, so gotta come up with another trick for her. Smile

Quote:

Boy howdy, y'all know about a lot of things I've never set my eyes on before. Magic cards! I don't think any self-respecting magicians would be doing tricks with those! I had a heck of a time tracking down some, too. There isn't much call for that sort of thing around here, what with the constant poker playing and all. I managed to get Joe, who runs the poker supply depot, up on this very fine President's day and I poked through his stock. It turns out he had bought some on a whim. I went through a few boxes of the things, and I found the card you told me to use.

( What strange names those cards have, let alone all the odd instructions and symbols. I saw one called a "Black Lotus." Who would want a lotus flower that had been colored black, I ask you.)

And now there's two fingers, and Scott is moving slower still. The voice is talkin' liiiiikkkkeee thiiiisss and I think it's sayin "What time is it? What day, what hour? Mark the time for me. There are too many threads of fate to follow."

Googled the black lotus card, guess it's really expensive and rare. No thoughts on the threads of fate.

A google of mark tine results
From Magic the gathering
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Spiral

From tarot.com
Quote:
Petrarch's identification of the Sun with Time has deep roots in medieval culture (Gurevich 1988). The movements of the Sun set important parameters of time, i.e., day/night and the seasons. The card-player would ordinarily mark time during the day by the movement of light and shadow. Even mealtimes were established by sunrise, by the Sun at zenith at noon, and again by sunset. So the association of the Sun with time would have seemed natural.

can't say this helps though Sad

I would be really suprised if we are still looking for Magic: The Gathering cards. I think we have moved on to another subject now.
