From Brutus.ypt: "Never more has been yelped" - a spelling mistake?; did he intend to write 'helped'; or is it a reference to Laika (dog's 'yelp' don't they?); or did he intend both meanings?

From Brutus.ypt: "Weap bitter tears, blank face, like Caesar..."
Does seem to suggest that Dina is dead... Sad

EDIT: Also from Brutus.ypt: "He Arriveth, Yet Sans Nurturing Duo"
Did Caesar loose Texel and Random some how? Running through the forest, looking for Scratch? And then Caesar explained to them what happened, whatever it was?
I assume that Caesar's posting of the statue image was his way, as a hacker, of expressing the sorrow over his mother's death/loss (assuming she is gone).

The statue looks to me like a Madonna and Child, but I don't know by who. It's not Michelangelo.

Wow. If it is just a typical Madonna and Child then we could have this all wrong... Madonna and Child impressions are of the Virgin Mary and Jesus. Jesus grew up to save mankind. Could Caesar be saying that he actually SAVED his mother and all is ok now?

I thought that that referred to Scratch arriving without Dina and Ethan (the nurturing duo referring to them being Caesars parents...)

Could be - it's hard keeping several different plotlines straight in your head, and Random's posts don't help none!

EDIT: I'd just like to point out that the "nurturing" could refer both to Caesar's parents, as well as Random and Texel; so, who knows (except for the PM's and Random), it might have a double meaning!

Yup, I'm not sure either, above was just how I interpreted at first...

I really wonder what happened to Dina though... it seems it could swing two ways. BrianEnigma found some info on the sculpture, but as we are not sure the info was found the way it should be, I'll post as a spoiler:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The picture seems to be from this stock photo archive (click), which indicates it indeed to be a gravestone. This could signify that Dina has died...

It also proves me utterly wrong, because it isn't from Rome but from Hamburg (Germany).

It could also be a crychoked yell - "Quote the raven - Never more" could be another of the endless litratur quotes. (cant remember it right now but i think it's an old english crime story by Edgar Allen Poe)

[Edit] yes it's from Edgar Alen Poe - The Raven [/Edit]

OK, this is interesting, I Googled "weap bitter tears" with the "weap" misspelling intact, and I get this:
http://s-breakz.net/pipermail/s-breakz/2002-February/000104.html

In part:
"Weap bitter tears, blank face, like Martin Luther.. . Nothing are you, or
will you ever be."

So, Martin Luther is the missing word. This HAS to be a clue, no? Even more confusing is that this does not seem to be a "famous" poem by a "legitimate" poet. Hmm.

Also this,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NondualitySalon/message/57500

with "Muhammad" instead of "Martin Luther". wtf!?

OK, so they're using a poem generator.

This person wrote this in LiveJournal:

"Never more has been yelped
How easily did the dream come apart, like a floozie in one's torn ligament
From a height high above, the preacher grasped the throat losenge."

He/she mentions it was made with this generator:
http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~esincoff/poetry/jpoetry.html

Don't know if it's significant. Probably not. Oh well, it seemed promising...

Heh...that's hilarious. That's the one that I could never get to work in my browser. I kept thinking, "The PMs better not use this one..." so of course they do. Arg. Very Happy

Actually, I still can't get it to work. Does Windows XP have Java issues?

http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~esincoff/poetry/pcii.jar
if you open that in winzip of the link, and go look at the class its suppossed to run, it was updated september 24th..

perhaps if ONE, and only ONE of you email this guy he would help out since he seems nice enough from his homepage.. I think a letter should be organized by whichever people want to track this down, approved, then sent to him.. Just my thoughts..

Hmm...interesting. Yeah, I guess I could volunteer to draft something, and I could post it here for feedback before sending if you guys want. Should we actually mention the ARG and everything, or just ask him whether he knows that his generator's not working? Mentioning the ARG would probably give him incentive to actually help us, although it might also make him conclude that we're psychotic. Or we could just send him the poem and ask if his generator could have produced all of those words, or whether some of it was modified (since that's what we'd get out of the working generator anyway).
