 		New post from Wilhelmina, basically saying what you guys got in your email. She said they're considering sending him to the Greenview Asylum in Ohio... so I googled that and came up with a uF thread from a few months ago for a game called The Night People...

I wonder if that's just a nod to that previous game, or if this is a continuation of that somehow?

Oh, and in Wilhelmina's first post Fred left a comment asking her why she is in denial about what Vetinol Technologies is doing to their town.

So does VT mean Vermont or Vetinol Technologies?

Edit: Oh yeah, I called the phone #. That seemed like either a woman, or a really young boy. Not at all like the voices from the Black River game... (yeah, I called them just to compare voices. Smile )

I think it seems like more of a nod, at least for the time being. I (very) briefly skimmed the thread for The Night People and don't see any real relations at this point, save the mention of the asylum.

However, it's interesting that the nod is made... Because it makes it more likely that the PM for this is... Well, y'know. The same guy. Which would actually be very reassuring, as his past games seem to have been very good. (He was a PM on F!PR, right?)

Yeah, it seems like the PM for Night People was the same guy from F!PR. But there was supposed to have been an F!PR 2 from what I can see on the forums, and it looks like that died the same day it was launched. And from JohnLockeGuy's profile, he hasn't posted on uF since then...

And i dunno if he'd make a nod to a previous game... i think it's more likely that this PM lurked/played that other game, and is just giving a shoutout.

That's my guess anyway.

Edit: Also, it appears that Welcheburg, New Hampshire (where Vetinol Furniture is supposedly located) does not exist. Smile

So, that's interesting. Aunt Wilhelmina is on Fred's side... then why is she opposing him so much? Is Vetinol Technologies looking over her shoulder? Then how did she slip in that hidden message?

And as far as the Vetinol Furniture website, .tk is a url redirection service. It seems as though someone has set up vetinolfurniture.tk to redirect to vetinolfurniture.tk... in other words, we're just going to keep getting all those annoying popups and a "REDIRECTING TO VETINOLFURNITURE.TK" page... indefinitely. The PM is probably creating the site and just wanted to show us that something's coming, soon.

Or that was a player who set it up to put us on the wrong track. Or something.

I'm guessing the PM didn't realize that it shows up on Google, and we're going to get a blog update from Fred real soon saying he's found the vetinol furniture site, and he'll give us a link to vetinolfurniture.tk, which will actually work this time.

but, that's pretty cool that we found it using google... gives it an authenticity, no?

There's no hidden messages in the email, I already checked.

EDIT: I sent this reply:

The last sentence was done in white text, so that it would blend into the background completely. The italics are the clue that should lead to Wilhelmina highlighting the email and finding the hidden text.

I sent an email earlier to the furniture email address, this is what I got:

We have a lot of furniture available normally. However, we have recently had our warehouse broken into, and are working on re-inventorying everything. We will contact you when we are ready to take business again.

Sorry to hear about the break-in! I worked for a small plumbing company for a year, and I know that when the inventory gets messed up, it's a pain in the $!!#%% to get it fixed. In the meantime, do you have a website I could check out?

*edit Just got a message from Fred, he says his aunt and he are putting on an act to try to fool them. However, he says he thinks the government may be involved with The Organization.

So make sure you don't post anything too incriminating all over the place, and try to encrypt your messages somehow (although realistically if it was the government, they would be able to decodee most of this stuff almost as fast as we can send it.)
