Well, when we do find the ONE (hint, hint, nudge, nudge Wink ), let's be sure to be super, extra, whipping cream with all the extras on top, nice to this guy; hey, maybe if he does think we're psychotic (personally I think we are, but that's a whole other matter) we can garner a sympathy vote!

the other option is to grab the sdk from java.sun.com, and the jar file, extract the jar, then use appletviewer on the poetry class and see if that works.. I was attempting this, but the installer seems to have hung on me.. :)

haha.. I just realized you only want the data, not necessarily the generator itself..
heres the data (attached)

The begining is the wordlist, and the end are the sentences they get plugged into afaik.

Oh, that's all we need, yeahyeah. You rock. We can leave the poor dude alone...

Quote:
The arguing pair recall with a sorrowful tooth
Like Semper Fi in the eye or Michelangelo trumpeting to his member
Quickly it embarked from the front of the vanilla tank.
He was arising himself--he had no choice
The scratch picked up the torn wing and stapled it back on the angel
Never created.. . Never more has been yelped
"Dominate me with your overpowering nose!" Agatha Christie moaned quickly.
From a height high above, the preacher grasped the orange.
Weap bitter tears, blank face, like Caesar.. . Nothing are you, or will you ever be.

Italics - stock lines taken directly from the poem format
Bold - words that Random added because they aren't in the word list. Note that Caesar actually is in the word list, but that doesn't mean that Random didn't add that, because he probably did.

Very Happy

[Edit] Oh, and I dunno about the title, "He Arriveth, Yet Sans Nurturing Duo." None of those words are in the word list except for "He" so it seems like Random wrote that himself (*gasp* he did what?!?), unless the code for the title is in another file or something. Mr. Green

So the title is probably quite meaningful. Also...Michelangelo? Member? Obviously scratch and most likely Caesar. Maybe Random just thought that "member" sounded funny in context. Er...

brutus5.jpg (text)

brutus5.jpg

Code:
Right about now I wish I had been able to have a normal life. I REALLY wish it.

The storms in my head seem to be the same storms that ripped through the last decade or so of my life. It started with childhood and my parents splitting, and now - this very minute, knowing that they are gone. For good.

Betting high and bluffing, I hoped that if I stayed out of trouble, if I laid low, if I quietly pulled out the information laid out in front of me on all those networks, I'd get my parents back. I am writing right now because I don't know what else to do. It feels like I've hit a wall, and the numbness is huge, solid. I welcome it.

Beth is a kind lady. Very beautiful, but also very real. Sincere. She seemed almost as sad as me when she told me. She seemed relieved. Maybe I'm wrong. My mind is too foggy right now to tell for sure. But I think it was something she wanted to know more than she knew how she felt about it, if that makes any sense. Anyway.

In a twisted way, I wish I could find an analogy for this woman, this messenger in the wilderness, laptop and striking eyes, a character from a book. I could then just make this all go away, you know? Give her winged sandals and a pseudonym, and then I'd just leave. I'd just go on looking until I'm dead. A pile of dust.

I want to say I am sorry.

Apologies just can't cut it in a situation like this, and so I won't even try to make this poetic. I'm sorry. I know now that pretty much everything I touch, every thing I have ever loved, has been totally messed up. I have seen so many things fall into chaos and I am not sure I even know how to grieve.

I have been on the run so long now that I think I let my brain get ahead of me. Do you know what it's like, when I'm in that hacking zone, night after night, and the numbers keep tumbling right in front of my eyes? I hear music. It's the best music I've ever heard, and I want to keep drowning in it until all the bad notes and cheap backbeats are gone. I want to wear the CD out with replays. I want to re-record it with fixes. I search for connections in literature, in the stuff we humans have created in order to understand the world.

I was so crazy with the loss of Mom and Dad that I forgot about what I was supposed to be doing. If I could just be smart enough, and fast enough, and if I could get enough control over the networks that screwed me over in the first place, I could win them back. I'd be King, and the world would have to give up and say, "Here's your mother and father. We give up. You totally rule."

In the course of breaking and entering and taking and taking, I killed them just as much as I've broken texel's ankle, and made scratch and all the rest of you leave me in disgust and distrust. I don't think anyone within 1000 miles of me is safe right now. I wanna go live in a cave and just forget about the world and everything in it. I will try not to care about videogames. I won't miss cheeseburgers.

I love you, mom. I love you, dad. And I'm sorry I have made such a mess of things. If there's anything I can do to fix this (how can I bring you back? HOW?), I will do it.

OK, here's the part where I stop writing.

Goodness...did anyone else tear up while reading that? Come on, just a tiny bit? Er...no, me neither. *looks around suspiciously*

So. Let me see if I understand what's going on...
Beth meets with Marcus
Marcus tells her James disappeared after "retirement" and he knows nothing else
Beth gets file, looks through it
AI Man suddenly remembers all about Avery - he was responsible for erasing him from everyone else's memories (WHY?)
Beth e-mails Phil
The kids down the road go up to meet Beth
Beth recognizes Caesar as Jesse and tells him, nicely, that his parents are dead.
Caesar posts...
So...where are the Emersons/Nekodas in all this? Also, scratch?

[Edit] Ok...so Scratch says he met Jesse's parents. The Nekodas say they met someone who'd take them to their son. There we go. So...the Averys weren't killed, they became the Nekodas...? Then who on earth were the Emersons? They were too closely associated with Metacortex to be the Averys, people would recognize them too easily.... *very confused*
The plot's moving along. I'm loving this...

I hate doing me too posts, but you beat me to posting.. :)

Forgive me for forgetting, but what exactly was the reason why we associated the emersons with the nekodas?

Only thing I can think of is the hold name, but I always figured that maybe they were friends since the businesses worked closely, and he left the clues intrusted to emerson.. Or something, hmm.. someone hit me with the clue bat, I need my brain straightened out..

We can add a new Googlism: Caesar is broken.

That's harsh.... Are we concluding that his parents are dead or just reprogrammed? The way he talks about his parents splitting, I'm back on the side of the fence saying Caesar is Avery's son... and who knows who the Emerson-Nekodas are? Gah... Time for me to go find out there's an update to the Ethan blog saying "Oh no! I'm dead!"...

The Emersons having CDs made with pictures of Jesse on them, declaring the missing boy as their lost son, meeting with Scratch and Scratch telling them that he knows their son?

How can we not associate the Emersons with the Nekodas? Jesse was Jesse Emerson to us before he was Jesse Avery, at least I'm pretty positive of that.

The Jesse link is just very strange, period. This has yet to be answered. All that has happened now is that Mr. AI Man has said the Avery's were deleted but something went wrong...

These are more questions masked as answers.

Wow. That's really sad. Whichever PM wrote that is a heckuva writer, he/she really understands how a scared kid writes.

This probably belongs in a different thread, but think about how many very distinct personalities the PMs have created, and how well they've fleshed each one out and given them their own unique voice (not all of them were written with poetry generators, you know...). That's hard to do - watch West Wing for an example of how hard this is. Sure, Aaron Sorkin is a great writer, but all of his characters talk exactly the same.

Maybe the PMs should have their own tv show.

Did someone say clue bat?

Okay, then I'm confused now. Who is/was Sylvia (or more importantly: who is she now?) and how does she fit into this?

The main reason I think that we identified Ethan and Dina with the Emersons is that Ethan recognised his writing on that note with the CDs and they both recognised their signatures on the wedding certificate.

So, I assume then that he posted this after setting up the 'grief' folder and to-night. files? Does this mean Caesar's leaving us for awhile? I also noticed that what Caesar posted in to-night.jpg was fairly close to what he posted here (although without the Shakesperian text); why would he repeat himself? (I realise he's depressed and confused, but still...)

EDIT: We also identified them with the Emersons, I think, because that Todd Rogan guy recognised Ethan as Ryan.

Nice work :) I felt sorta silly wasting so much time trying to get the generator to work, when I realized you just wanted the words.. :) I'll double check and make sure that Michelangelo and Member arent in any of the data files, the way I ripped the data wasn't exactly fool proof, since I had to hand edit part of it..

Just checked.. You are correct, the words don't exist in the data files..
*applause*
