Some Email Replies
from fred/vetinol

I sent vetinol furniture this:

Quote:
Hello, My name is Nicholas Fredericks. I'm looking to purchase an antique card table for my grandmother, and I was referred to your store by a friend.

Do you have anything of this nature? I'm willing to pay whatever sum of money you guys are asking, just please, don't kill me. *ahem*. Just please, don't sell what you have before you tell me what my choices are.

Also, do you have a website where I can view some of your products?

And, are you at all related to Vetinol Technologies, also based in New Hampshire? I knew someone who worked there once. I haven't heard from them in a while, however...

Thanks for any information you might have!

-Nick

and got this:

Quote:
Thank you for your interest in our furniture. Yes, we do have antiques. And you should not buy into rumors. Yes, I am CEO of both companies. My website is down for Vetinol Furniture. We are currently re-invetorying everything in our warehouse that was broken into recently. We will notify when we can get you information about that table.
Stay out of Welcheburg. You know nothing about what's happening.
Angus Hurley, CEO

The bolded stuff was in white text.

From Fred I got:

It decodes as

My mother's name was Katterina Nehme... I loved her so much. Thank you for caring. Have you made any attempt to contact Vetinol Furniture? The email I put up is correct... although, their website appears to be down.

Nehme translates to "take".

Hey, everyone. I'm Dustin, and I'm relatively new to all of this. I've been lurking around here for a while, and I've finally found a game that's just starting up. I sent Fred an e-mail, saying I wanted to help, and I got this:

Quote:

..which decodes to:

Thank you... this means a lot, what everyone has done to help me. My aunt and I are both working to bring them down... We will keep you informed.

I'm about to send Vetinol Furniture an e-mail, as well.

My first response to him was this:

Quote:
Perhaps I can be of assistance to you in some way? You may call me Nytris Oxyde (name withheld for security) or just Oxyde.

A few days later, he sent me this response:

Quote:
Thanks Oxyde... Shouldn't that Y be an I though? Just Idle thought... I will contact you when we know more.

Today, I sent him this back.

Quote:
My name gives me something unique, something not too many people can claim to have. I will try to contact you in code from now on so you are not found out.

N. Oxyde

This was in Base 64. Also, if you want proof of my claim, Google Nytris Oxyde. Razz

I, too, got a message from Vetinol Furniture. My email doesn't read HTML, so I didn't realize that the hidden text was white. I thought they just had put it there, and I was very offended (and told them so in my next email). Whoops. Laughing

Yes, we know about the website being down. We are working on getting it back up. But with our warehouse recently being broken into, we are currently re-inventorying everything. We will contact you when everything is back to normal.

Also, I sent a PM off to Freddy. I figured that his aunt owned the message board, and if he was decoding it they'd be able to see it anyway... So, long story short, I didn't Base64 it. I will in the future, though, as a precaution.

As I told another person... I am currently buying protection from them... So their eyes should be off of me, at least for now.

Friedrich,

So... Your aunt and you are working together to take down VT? Good--I'm glad that we're all on the same page. Her blog is providing an excellent facade.

How closely is VT watching you? Do you think you'll be okay posting on these forums?

I want to help. Unfortunately, I can't do much right now--not until we know more.

Thanks!

New post in ilovechairs

I mentioned the Silver Chair in the "Chairs in Movies" thread because Wilhelmina mentioned the Chronicles of Narnia. She responded with this post:

Quote:
Ah, yes! The Silver Chair! I used to just sit and stare at the cover when I was a little girl...

Think it means anything? Here are three version of the cover I found. Two of which show violence against the chair. Smile

Also, she posted again in the "Types of Chair" section, bringing the topic back to Oak.

Quote:
Oak... ah, oak...

I love the smell of oak chairs in the morning.

I do not know whether the story of the Silver Chair has anything to do with it.

Or the silver chair in the story has anything to do with it.

All I know after reading the story is that, well, the silver chair is used to keep a prince captive for 10 years, until its destruction towards the end of the book.

I'm new to ARG so I thought this would be a nice place to start Smile

I was just looking over the stopvt.blogspot.com site, and I noticed a comment for the most recent blog. No one here has mentioned it, I'm pretty sure.

I have no idea what language it is or anything, however I thought Irgvaby Sheavgher could be a name but I searched and got zilch.

Fred, I sent an email to Vetinol Furniture. I'll let you know if anything comes of it. I'll try calling the number, too.

Though the person that posted it looks to be a player not anything PM related

Dead?

Um.... so, has anyone heard from this game since the weekend?

They were blogging every day and then... stopped. and I haven't had any more email correspondence, nor have I gotten a phone call from Vetinol. So, are we supposed to wait until they re-inventory their shop, or something?

Wink

Anyway, I'll keep watching. are we missing something?

I sent the furniture company an email over the weekend asking where I can find their online catalog.

So far no response.

And BTW: We don't have a logo for them, do we?
