Microdots? From the PXC eason 2 part of the Firebox website;
Quote:
Last season's cards used heat-sensitive ink, microdots, ultra-violet effects and even scratch'n'sniff to hide clues - and these all new waves promise to be even more inventive.
Does anyone know to what card/puzzle the microdot reference is...err...referencing.
Its bugging me...also has anyone had any confirmation regarding the Partay?

One of the cards has a "scratch 'n sniff"?

Aromarama #007 Red Set
I just figured this out the other day.
I actually matched the colors rather than smelling them. DUH!

There is a kind of microdot on card #237 - Roaming Identity
although it's more of a 'mini-dot' as you can read it with little magnification.
It says: "
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
otpaaworldtdnia 1.56.29
"
A meta puzzle that has not been solved afaik

Despite Rand0m teasing us/giving us a hint in this thread (which you shouldn't go to if you don't want to know the eventual structure of the solve).

Guy posted on the other forums that anyone who had applied had been accepted, I posted it somewhere on here but can't find it at the moment.
Would have been nice to have a confirmation email though.

Say, here's a question...I've been looking, but does anyone know what cards HAD UV scenstive ink or anything like that? Heh, The thermal one is one of my all time fav cards, it was just really unexpected when it happend the first time with me, and it's the same reaction when i show anyone, "Oh Wow! That's awesome!" So, does anyone know which cards have the UV ink on them? Thanks for your time all!

Hiya Tom,
if you're talking about Season 1 cards then #207 Huey Teocalli might be worth looking at, and #146 You are cordially invited has some stuff pertinent to the plot of Season 1. With Season 2, I don't know yet...but I might head to the dark room

All the cards I've posted and a few more that I haven't got round to yet have been checked with UV (front and back) as well as everything in the goody bag from the party (actually at the party - always bring a UV light to an ARG event, just in case). No joy, but some of them look pretty cool.
On the subject (of microdots according to the title), did we ever work out what kind of ink Going Dotty had the precious stones written in? I've seen it called UV but it ain't. I can see it easily enough but there just has to be something that makes it come out.

What type of UV light do you use?
My attempts with 75w GLS blacklight were unsuccessful in S1.

One that looks a lot like this , but shh, it was a present and I'm not meant to know. Sadly I can't find any technical specs on it and I don't actually own the right S1 cards to check whether it does work on them. But it works on credit cards; that made me happy.
