Could it be something as simple as a time card that you have stamped when you clock in and out of work?

That'd take us out of card games, but it's still a card, so worth a try.
My only thought is solitaire (or patience) is a game you play to pass the time, but that has nothing to do with fate - has a variant form called clock solitaire, too.

Blog's updated. The clock-in card did the trick. now down to 1 finger:
Quote:
Where is my home? Where am I? My path started with a dead man's hand. Where did I end it? Put it in a house. Help me find my house
The Dead Mans Hand is aces and eights all black, the 5th card not specified. So maybe the 5th card is back to the king of spades?
EDIT: so, posted that along with my second thought that it means the suit of Spades (path started = ace, ended at king, spades feature in both)

Looks like the card house will do the trick but she needs a picture to see if that really is the solution so I gave her one. Hopefully Scott will soon be unstuck. Whoo!

Mabel added another comment. It sounds like the house of cards is definitly warm, but we're still missing something....

podcast implies conelrad was caught in the loop too and is totally disorientated.
There's also an audio clip he found on his PC which sounds like it's from the end of the tournie, and Baron beats Scott with a pair of 2s on the first hand!
He also mentions some people have improved their chip count, however the boat site is still 404. I hope this doesn't mean we don't get to play

Time travel confuses me. Maybe conelrad went forward in time but doesn't remember? Was he somehow trapped along with Scott?

The first thing that jumped out at me was the fact that one of Baron's toadies took the chip, and hence, Scott immediately going all in on a pair of 2's
As far as time travel, and/or how did Conelrad call the tournament already...If his computer was anywhere near him when he got caught in the loop, who's to say that the computer wasn't also trapped? Clearly, the idiocyncracy was time related, so it's not totally out of the realm of possibility that it picked up on a different "loop".
But regardless of the "how", I think we should tell Mabel to make sure he keeps that chip in a front pocket or something...

It definitely looks like time travel was involved. Conelrad seemed genuinely suprised and says "It wasn't me, it didn't happen".
I think we may have to play back to the future.

I agree with AprilAWZ. However it sounds like Robert Baron won the tournament with a pair of twos. The audio cuts out after the chips where stolen, so maybe time has passed between the time that Michael stole the chip and when Baron wins the tournament. That way there is time for Michael to pass the chip to Baron.
Mabel definitely needs to be warned about making sure that Scott doesn't use the lucky chip for betting.
Also, there is an update on the the 3O blog that the tournament resumes tomorrow Friday the 23rd, at 5pm EST.
It looks like Ned is the admin of the 3 oaks blog, based on the update by conelrad . Wonder if that means that he is the owner. Did we already know that already and I missed it somewhere?

Looks like Ned says the tournament is back in action, so I'll see you there at 5pm (EST for all you crazy Internetters).

There's a strange update on the 3O site:
Quote:
All those who currently have reservations need to contact us as soon as conveniently possible, so that we can reschedule your stay
and the tournie site is back up, although we can't access it yet.
