KC coin

The coin for Kansas City was in Penn Valley Park and the Pioneer Mother Statue. I drove from Des Moines to Kansas City only to find a laminated note stating:

Dr Pepper Contestants, the coin for the Kansas City Area has been found.

Thanks for Playing.

In the time that I was there about ten other groups arrived. Needless to say, everyone was very disappointed because the rules were very deceiving. Most people understood the rules to mean that the coins could not be placed until the 21st. However some people decided to stay all night just incase the sign was a fake. I just think that Dr. Pepper needs to update their sight because I am sure that there will be many people driving long distances tomorrow to look for a coin that has already been found.

I have to agree with you there....seems like there should have been a strict set of guidelines on placement...at least stricter than "may be placed"
and "at the discretion of the sponsor"

WRONG COIN??? Is there some "coin fairy" rolicking through national parks at random???
I think I need a nap..especially if I am to get up at the butt crack of dawn to look for a coin that may or may not be the "correct" coin.

Canada coins?

Anyone hear anything about the 2 coins in Canada? I have been scouting out areas as to where I think the one in Western Canada is but found nothing at all today.
Do you think they will put signs up when they are found?
How the heck do we find out when they have been found?

Well through all this, I have still heard absolutely nothing about the Canadian coin.

I don't know what was going through my head, but I headed over to the approximate place where the coin should be, at night, in a semi-quiet neighborhood. Probably not the best thing to do... tried to be inconspicuous and casual, but without the last clue, I'm not sure if it's inside what may be considered 'private' property or not. There was a driver in training practicing in a training car on the street, so I felt like I was being watched suspiciously, and after hearing a police siren (though there are many in the city), I began to get nervous. Took one more quick look around before noticing police lights a block away... so I decided to call it a night Razz

Found nothing, but I have a feeling I may not have been able to check where it might be, at least at night. But being near a park-y area with benches, I'm thinking it might be following a similar hiding technique.

Depending on the last clue, I may bus it up, again, early in the morning when the day's breaking, and try again... otherwise wait until the 'private' place is open, and probably call to see if they know anything of it, and if so head up there to poke around inside.

On that note, does anyone know the status of the Canadian coin? Gotta know if this is worth another $23 coach bus ride and probably a few hours off work.

I'm hoping that the theory that you'll be notified when you login if your region's coin has been found is actually correct.

ETA: Justme - I'm covering the eastern Canadian coin - good to know you've got the west Wink

Coins

Well I hope I have Western Canada covered I searched around for about an hour this afternoon but found nothing but where a homeless guy is sleeping (a little afraid to go out when it's dark).

The codes from what I understand can be entered at 12:01 PST so 2 more hours til I can enter a code and then I think I have to call in sick for part of the morning.

I will be really pissed if the coin was in the area I was searching but was placed an hour or 2 after I left.
