Let reason guide your minds, and intellect steer your action
"Congratulations... you have proven yourself worthy"

Let the game begin. Got a letter in the mail. Aquaman stamp postmarked from Chicago.

Sorry my scanner sucks. Ignore black line as usual. Click to see larger:

Also included: a translucent piece of waxy type paper with the phrase, "Let reason guide your minds, and intellect steer your action". Can't see anything else interesting about it. And since it's hard to scan, I'll study it more before attempting.

In Chat Six realized that the design found here would correspond to the shapes in the letter, especially if the design was used like a pigpen cipher.

Unfortunately, we haven't figured out where to go from there

Hi folks, the name's Oxyde. I looked at this and I see a possible solution. Each of the grid sections seem to represent two letters each, with the A and S being separate. I am decoding the message now, and will get back when I have something.

Edit: Got the message mostly decoded, with one word unknown. The gist of the letter is revealed though.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The arranged letters boil down to:

S:

OY / G / E
FP / A / CR

A:
DS / LT
U / BMN
W / HI

Not all letters were needed for the solve, but help in completing this would be great.

The letter as I have found out is attached. Good luck all.

Ha, ace. I was just about to make a post with pretty much exactly what Oxyde posted above, good thing I looked at the thread again before hitting submit Smile

The unkown word has made up of the following letters in this order, and possibly any that arn't used in the key already:
Code:

DODALHLUD
SYS TIT S
     J

i.e. sysalitus would work

Also adding to the key:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The 'A' side full last line is:
VWX/HIJ

taken using the 'Hangman puzzle' bits which fit with the rest of the letter placements.

One more thing, 'COMMUNICATION' is actually missing the symbol for the N in the middle, but it's so easy to drop a letter by accident when writing in a cipher so this can be disregarded.

I think interfare should be interface

sysalitus?? I can't find that one in the dictionary, must be something else, but I can't figure out what

and we still need to solve

Shoot, you beat me to it, Oxyde. This was a pretty fun puzzle to solve anyway. And I'm still stumped on that same word as well.

Looks like we have to figure out the identity of their inside man, now.

I've got an idea about this:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The red numbers we've receive so far are all two-digit primes :one one (11), four seven (47), etc.

By my best estimation, the series we are missing is : 13, 19, 29, 31, 37, 43, 53, 61, 71, 79, 83, 89

Am I missing any?

for the missing word, Possibly sodalitus - it's actually a typo of sodalitas which means secret society in latin

ETA: does anyone see any clues as to where we might find this interface? Nothing is jumping out at me

Edit: err Embarassed didnt see Oxyde's solve. I'll edit my post to match the solves he had that I didn't. Just so I feel like I didn't type that whole thing for nothing.

I got a tan letter that appears to be just like Lovek's. I was working on it all day and I think I got it figured out. (Oxyde beat me to it though Smile , so credit to him with the solve.)

heres a transcription with what I've got so far. I think the code is a Complex substitution Cipher(that right?)

Well then, the next thing to do is to get cracking on those symbol groups. I'll try to help when I can with this.

I really like the idea below. If for no other reason, I didn't get a two digit number, and if we all need our own unique two-digit numbers then... I'm out of luck. Sad

I got the same letter as everyone else. Mine had a Supergirl stamp on it! Also, the hangman puzzle was different, but I don't have the letter here at work so I'll have to transcribe it for you all later. Embarassed
