I love chess puzzles. Classics.

But I do not think the chess moves between Keir and MG are necessarily all of the puzzle. They may well be a puzzle, but also look in the above quoted comment from MG at how some words are capitalized even though they are not at the beginning of a sentence. He does not do that in all of his comments, just that one.

The auto update supposedly set by Keir led us to a directory in the event something should happen to him so that we would learn the truth.

On Jan. 13, 2007 we find out that:

Eeep!! I hope I didn't make a mess of things!!!!!! I played the chess game as though I was actually playing it (I like chess). I do have to admit however that I am not sure I was actually "playing." Some of my attempted moves didn't appear to take. I got the first message that appears earlier in this thread. Then, after another move I got this:

This game of chess is a classic...

It is a seven move win known as the Kostic Gambit, the white king is trapped behind a wall of his own making and cannot escape. It's like he was agoraphobic or something Wink

also called "Death by suffocation" and the Blackburne Shilling Gambit

The tactical blunder Keir made that cost him the game is when he takes the black pawn at e5 on his 4th move 27/01/07 which just happens to be the same day he sent the zipped email attachment to Eva which turned out to be that RFID record of her movements. thread here

This might suggest that the RFID readout was a trap, a sacrificial piece that Kenkon played to expose their Squealer and force him into the endgame. It certainly explains the comment by M.G on 01/02/07

What other significance it has - surely there must be more! - I can't think yet... is there a puzzle tied to this somehow? Silly question, there's always puzzle tied in somehow. Except when there isn't of course. AAAGGHH

Well... It looks like ol' Melvin Geist is involved in this story after all. I guess that Keir worked for Geist's company... Which was the company collecting data on Eva. Does that mean that Melvin Geist is in charge of KenKon?
