Yeah, I mean it didn't seem all that difficult but some clues took you for a spin. I was there wicked early in the morning (3am) and I saw nothing, no sign, only a few people coming and taking a look while I waited there. i just saw nothing about NY on the Wiki page (above) or in any discussion here.

Baton Rouge coin

Sure, it is possible the coin has not been placed yet. Let's assume that the Dr. Pepper employee responsible for placement had Tuesday off for Mardi Gras, and didn't want to get up Wednesday because it was raining. Then maybe they are going this afternoon to put the thing out. I will say this. One of the guys I met at the arborietum said he had been there every day for the last 10 days and had actually run into the Dr. Pepper employee who would place the coin. He claimed he saw the guy there yesterday, that he went to one of the bridges, looked around for a few seconds, and left. Was he checking to see if the coin was still there, or was he checking to see if the hiding spot was still good? Don't know. Don't know even if the guy who told me this is on the up and up, but he did look around the bridge for a long time this morning and found nothing. All I can say for sure if that I'm back in Mississippi and won't be doing any more searching. I am very frustrated that Dr. Pepper won't say if they coin has been found. Newspaper guy.

P.S. Sorry I assumed you were Jeremy's wife.

New York - Central Park.

I have been to the New York - Central Park location 2 times today and have met others there. My hunch is the coin has already been found. Can anyone confirm? This late in the game I imagine it is unlikely that the coin has not been placed in it's location.

Were any of the coins put out before today? I spoke to a few young guys in Central Park who had been casing the area off and on for at least 24 hours and saw no one and found nothing.

Yeah I went last night, and didn't seem like there was much activity around the area.. haven't heard or seen anything either though
The last clue seemed kind of odd, with the way it was going, but who knows..
I was there from 7-8 and saw one other group looking around too
The thing about this location is that its pretty high traffic, so they may have actually waited for this one.. not counting the fact that you don't really want to be hanging out there too late by yourself..

Yeah, 29th clue really threw me but the 30th kinda made it obvious and I thought for sure I was going to see sumething early this morning. I hung out till like 8am but nothing but a few others to come and look around and a bunch of dogs.

Ha well I'm glad I didn't get up early this morning to head down there again then..
Man.. I'm sure there's people just waiting there until the end.. what if they don't even have the opportunity to hide it without being obvious..

Katethegreat, I also was told by a ranger that the coin was found yesterday afternoon down by the WWII memorial. However, the last clue says it's not there, but in the wall at the 1870 date. I went to the park about 3:30 am (overslept) and 3 guys were still hanging out there and were going to wait until daylight. they said 8 others had been by since they got there @ 2:15.
They said as they got there one truck was leaving, and a lady told them that the people in the truck won.

Also, the rangers initially told me it would not be hidden in the park b/c they had talked to DP and told them to make other arrangements.

Bottomline - I think the rangers were wrong, it was in the wall, and it was found around 2 am this morning.

Re: more on Boston

Good to know I am not crazy. Sometimes I wonder. : )
I will be lodging my complaints. Argh.
I wish it was somewhere else, but have a sinking feeling..... I just wish I could get some sort of straight answer from dr pepper.
Oh well. It was nice to meet you all...
A.
PS There will be a get together at Pandemonium in Cambridge for the release of Season 2 of Perplexcity (which I mentioned this morning) on the 1st at 5:30. Anyone in the area is welcome! (it's not too obsessive...just fun)

Amymisha,

I can confirm what you are saying about Boston--

Right after I left this morning, I got a call back from the guy at the Park Services (remember I called and "asked for an appointment?") Well, he started grilling me about it, and I confirmed that I did go there because of the Dr Pepper promotion. He was REALLY mad, and said they had no permits for that site, that no permit would ever be given for that site, and that if there is something there, there would be consequences. He mentioned the fiasco with the Aqua Teen Hunger Force situation, and implied the area was NOT reopening until this was resolved. I suspect that tomorrow there will be reporters there, a nice little side story to the whole cartoon situation.

I filed complaints in three different areas of Dr Pepper, including the hotline, and I think that other Boston people should do the same. What worries me the most is the possibility that someone could cheat to get the coin by tresspassing at night.

In my dreams, the coin is somewhere else, and we were all fooled.... in that case, kudos to the winner. But the solutions to other cities just confirm to me the transparancy of the clues, so how could we all be wrong?

Re: more on Boston

You know... I'm having a thought here... everywhere else the park rangers seem to know and be able to verify the coins being found/placed whatever. Here not so much. Could it be somewhere else???
Just thinking is all.
I need a hobby!

We need to find people from various regions with found coins who can send over the clues and answers to populate the wiki Smile

And, if all the locations listed on that page are correct, then we're missing one coin location (there are 22 listed of 23, with 4 having the clues available, and 3 with the answers).

other cities

I think the last city is Minneapolis.
For person who asked about Seattle, that coin was found 2 days ago.
