other hints...

from google : but a good ballroom needs to have the right sort of floor and we have got a lovely image of the floor, so could that be a hint

also has anyone tried to pick out the spelling mistakes in the new emails - I ended up with loads of i's but couldn't make anything of it

so far I've got meirly (merely), aplications (applications), countrys (countries), orginizations(organizations), persionel (personnel), forgien (foreign), concusion (concussion), retrive (retrieve), cossequences (consequences)

I know, I know - it looks patronizing but I am just trying to show what I was thinking & seeing if anything was there

For the sake of having text versions, here are the 4 emails. (I will do up the wiki a little more later)
Also, I've bolded spelling mistakes, and put line breaks where they appear in the remote client.

email 1 wrote:
From: Dr. Rebecca Howard
Subject: RE: RESUME PROJECT ASAP
Date Received: FEB 2, 2007 19:23 (MST)
To: Agent Alexander Powers CC: Agent W. Snup

You've asked why I have reservations about your latest directive to
resume research on Project Maximum Shunt.

I guess I need to remind you about experimental procedure
AX9-8946-095U-1, which ended in complete failure. At first, the test
subject reacted as predicted, but after 3.92 seconds its response to the
treatment became erratic, quickly turning violent and endangering the
lives of several facility personnel.

Even with the protective chamber designed by R&D, the subject nearly
escaped. After several attempts to contain the treated subject for
further testing, we initiated a high-intensity EMP that rendered it inert.
But not before it killed my lead researcher, James FARR. The amount of
energy required to affect even this small subject nearly drained our
backup generators.

I have attached video of the chamber and damage caused by the
experiment. As I've said in the past, I ardently believe we're pushing too
fast in this direction. We need to slow down before more lives are lost.

email 2 wrote:
From: S7 Department of Network Security
Subject: Facility Security Breach
Date Received: Feb. 2, 2007 04:17 (MST)
To: Agent W. Snup

Subject B11-9981 was apprehended after gaining access to the facility.
Video-recording equipment was confiscated (see attached footage) and
the subject interrogated.

Subject claims to be "just the pizza boy" and to have no affiliation with
Agent X. He has been released so his activities can be monitored 24/7.

A new security protocol has been implemented, effective immediately:

99-J4XY: No take-out deliveries.

Please see that all agents and employees adhere to the new directive.
Failure to comply will result in immediate transfer to N44E for an
undisclosed period.

Note: the lines of the following emails are wrapping here; they are longer in the remote client interface (you can widen the browser window until the lines stop auto-wrapping)
email 3 wrote:
From: Agent W. Snup
Subject: Network Intrusions
Date Received: Feb. 16, 2007 12:48 (MST)
To: S7 Department of Network Security

Unauthorized network traffic has increased significantly over the past two weeks, primarily in the form of e-mails from individuals we have been
unable to vet. Could be packet sniffers, maybe spoofers, perhaps some sort of AI malware. I suggest monitoring the intrusion prevention system
and logging any suspicious activity or other anomaly from now on.

If this has anything to do with Agent X, Powers will want to know about it.

Either way, THESE HACKERS MUST BE IDENTIFIED AND NEUTRALIZED AT ALL COSTS.

Below are a few of the e-mails we've received thus far:

------------------

my code name is "the rabbit". think of me as the voice of reason. i am an ally, to properly study the "threat" you must not only understand its
origins, but also it's composition. you must find a way to penitrate its protective armor. don't meirly think destruction. but you must consider the
aplications to our homeland defence. how do you think we could possibly be threatened by enemy countrys and terrorist orginizations if we could
"transform" our soldiers into armed combat persionel? there is a reason we cannot ask for assistance from forgien governments. they would
learn the secrets and we would be at constant war with not only neighboring nations, but also with the invading nemisis. to properly detain the
enemy invaders, try short range concusion launchers, in conjunction with a "harpoon" style cannon. they may not be organic but they may have
our types of weakness. the artifact your orginisation possesses may be what they have come to retrive. use caution when near it, it may have
more harmful cossequences on organig life than you first thought.

------------------

I'm sending you a message from a non-S7 email to inform you that somehow, someone has gotten into our remote client database, and has also
found your e-mail, as well as mine and Dr. Howard's. More alarmingly, these people seem to be civilians. I have done a little research into this and
it seems that they have only been able to get A7 authorization, but this could change at any moment. I am requesting a password change, and
possibly a lockdown of any A7 authorization accounts.

------------------

in regards to specimen AX9-8946-095U-1, attempt using lower amplitude of the "procedure".

this should help lessen the strains on the facilitys backup generators. do not underestimate the consequences of the reformating. you may now
be the diffrence between sucess and failure of mr. alexander powers' job. they feed of latent energy of this planet. do not underestimate them.
and be cautious of the design of the specimen. they are more than meets the eye.

From: Agent W. Snup
Subject: UNAUTHORIZED USE OF S7
Date Received: Feb. 16, 2007 12:52 (MST)
To: recipient list suppressed;

This morning alone, I've received the same chain letter from 38 different Sector Seven personnel (see excerpt below).

I'll remind you all one last time about security protocol 85-C9LG: E-mail chain letters to or from Sector Seven e-mail accounts are forbidden.
This is a waste of agency resources.

The next person who sends me a chain letter will spend a few hours in N44E thinking about what they've done.

Chili Cook Off

Judge #3 (Frank) was an inexperienced Chili taster named Frank, who was visiting from Springfield, IL.

Frank: "Recently, I was honored to be selected as a judge at a chili cook-off. The original person called in sick at the last
moment and I happened to be standing there at the judge's table asking for directions to the Coors Light truck, when
the call came in. I was assured by the other two judges (Native Texans) that the chili wouldn't be all that spicy and
besides, they told me I could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted."

I need to vent a tiny bit

I am sorry but if I hear one more loser ask "Is ___ gonne be in the movie?" or "Are you gonna do this or that to keep it true to G1?"

I swear they want every fricken detail, why bother seeing it. BE SUPRISED!!! I have a feeling MR. Bay has thrown in a "guest" bot or 2.

"Is the sound gonna be the same?"

JEEEEEEEEEEEEZ

Anyway... thanks Wink Had to vent before I blew and killed a bunch of geeks with their own action figures.

Ok, I was just fooling around with the logo image, and I was thinking that perhaps if the lines were aligned in the top right area, could it be BARCODE?

Anybody know barcode wanna take a crack at it?

So much for the barcode theory. The lines all match vertically, 3 rows. They're the same. If it is barcode, it's repeated in 3 rows which wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

the question of hidden content in the gifs was brought up by ams707 a while back, and the best explanation is that it's standard gif artifacting, not a hidden message. Good sleuthing though, and I'm sure ams707 is happy to know someone else thought along the same lines Razz.

By all means, I take no credit for finding anything. Just looking at another angle.

It DOES seem peculiar however, that the file should be ZIPPED.

Is there a possibility that files can be hidden in a ZIP program? I don't know much about the program's details.

Ok, so where exactly in my posts did you extract the idea that I duplicated your findings?

I acknowledged the fact that the lines had been found already, pointed out that I took no credit, and simply brainstormed another avenue from what had been found.

If for some reason that wasn't clear before, well, now ya know.

I give the admins permission to nail me to a friggin cross if somewhere along those lines I violated some rule. Otherwise, I hope I didn't draw any tears. If so, get over it.
