Meaning of PaintOver

This may or may not help with any solves, but the name PaintOver. Has anybody thought about what that means? I have two thoughts:

1. When people are reprogrammed, their memories are erased, or, in effect, painted over wth new ones.

2. The Nekodas. Doesn't their name mean "the painted ones"?

I'm sorry of this has been discussed already and/or if it's useless info.

I think it has been touched upon now and again el kabong, but I'm not sure if we have actually studied it in-depth.
You are right - the Nekodas does mean 'painted'; see http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=22939#22939
Problem is, if we follow that theory through, then Jesse knew about the Nekodas when he established Paintover; and, somehow, I don't think he knew about the Nekodas.
You can see this thread for more information on the etymology of the name: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=19516#19516
As for the name Paintover itself - well, I honestly do not know!

EDIT: PaintOver suggests concealment; so, perhaps when Caesar was naming the site (I assume it is the just the name of the site, rather than of all the hackers, as a group) that he had a bit of Freudian slip, and so named it, unconsciously, knowing he was concealing stuff from his friends/Scratch?
