So I'm guessing everyone is strongly advising against tryin to find the sources of the phone numbers too then? Just strikes me as wierd the first one based in Cali and this new one based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Exactly. I agree it is weird, but the best we will do through looking up the numbers is figure out the company that is creating the whole thing. While this is of great importance to some people, it is really beside the point of the game/experience. And in most cases that is actively discouraged. Isn't there enough IN the game to obsess over? Very nice. It does seem to cut out a lot of the detail that could hide clues, though. I'm at work now, but I'll see if I can convert it to DivX or another high-quality format when I get home if people are still having issues.

BTW, are you sure you're running Quicktime 7? It seems to be in H.264 format, which I don't think was supported under 6.X.

That could be it, actually- I rarely use QT, so probably haven't upgraded in ages.

It's a fairly impressive little clip though. Assuming that the video is also supposed to have been shot "in-game", as it were, that is, by an actual person in YZ's future reality (rather than just being a NIN promo illustrating part of the story), it kind of proves that The Presence is not merely a mass hallucination- it shows up on camera.

I didn't see anything. Now drink the water.

NEW INFO

I was just on the phone with someone who has contact with Reznor's management, he has confirmed that there will be two full length records, Year Zero and Year One, I cannot confirm sources at this time. Believe me or not, I don't really care. I just got kicked from the IRC chat for stating this, but my source claims this info to be valid. I'm not trying to attract attention but I thought people might like to know this information. So like I said, believe or not.... if I'm wrong, I'm wrong and you can make fun of me, but if I'm right I just gave you some early info.

Though interesting, I'm not sure if this info has any relavance at the moment. Just to make sure, I tried yearone.nin.com. No dice.

Year One Cover-up

if you do a googe search for "Year One" nine inch nails, you'll find links to both the MTV and VH1 articles containing that title which have since been altered.

This old blog entry I discoverd in the google search calls it Year One as well:

Hi everybody!

I have nothing to add just now. Smile

Glad you made it HHM!

Just a reminder, we can start new threads in this forum.
If any one has time you can start a new thread for this last update.

I like the idea of this, but we don't really have a dedicated forum for this ARG, and I'd hate to gum up the works here in "ARGs with Potential."

Thanks, Ariock. Smile

Please don't start threads just to get a game out of Potentials, 'cause that's annoying, but if you need to start a new thread for a new update or site to make it easier to discuss without confusion, then do so. That's one of the ways the admins gauge when a game needs a dedicated forum.

Do what makes discussion flow best, basically. Smile

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

My teeny bit of spec is that what we're seeing is archived information, and these events they're talking about are "in the past" and what we're seeing is backstory, from an in-game perspective, leading up to Year Zero which we'll join at some point in progress. But the more I look at what we have so far, the more I think that's not quite it.

Also? I shouldn't listen to the phone messages at work. Smile

Edit:
Okay, the only other place the search function can find for the number sequence of 24/10.7 is here and there's not much about it specifically. So just to document where it was found I'd like to point out that 24.10.7 is on http://bethehammer.net/default.htm.

And here is a screen shot pointing it out.

Yes, I am, in fact, a spaz.
