 houston coin location

I didn't get the last clue for houston area. Does anyone know when and where the coin was found (somewhere in Sam Houston park I know). I looked all over that park after the 9th clue but at the end got real sick and couldn't continue play. pretty crappy not knowing when the coin is put there...

Is there anything in the rules that says that I can or can't share the location of the coin? We definitely found the Tampa coin at 3:20 am Wednesday morning!

Oklahoma City Clues

I didn't find the Coin, I live 90 minutes away and just could not camp out the last few days. But here are the clues and my interpretation of them.

Physical Hunt Clues
1. Our search begins in the land of the free, go back in time from EST. (west of Eastern Standard Time)
2. The coin is hidden in a place you can see, when you look at land sold back in 1803. (in the area of the Louisiana Purchase)
3. You'll find yourself in the right state, getting hotter, if you're in a place where you can't reach the water. (landlocked state)
4. Okay, so you want another clue? Guess what, we just gave it to you. (OK = Oklahoma)
5. Though it's cold, your search won't freeze, if you keep it below 36 degrees. (coin is south of 36 degrees latitude)
6. Loosen your grip, there's a line in the sand. There's no need to look in this former No Man's Land. (???didn't get this clue???)
7. She runs through the southwest, with a great white north name, and marks the southern most line of our treasure-hunting game. (North Canadian River)
8. It takes just one shift to find the name of your search's new northernmost line: Kpio Ljmqbusjdl Uvsoqjlf (John Kilpatrick Turnpike)
9. Shoot rapids, race cars or travel by train, all in one place, again and again. Amusing as this is, it's not part of your test, the place that you seek is to the south and the west. (Frontier City & White Water Bay)
10. North and west you must probe from a place of fear by ornithastrahydrophobes. (??? rabid starbirds???)
11. South and west you should roam from where the okapi calls home. (Oklahoma City Zoo)
12. To the north and west your search much be constricted, from the site where for the first time a tornado was predicted. (Tinker AFB)
13. From the place where six continents all bloom, head west and let your search resume. (don't know this one.. Myriad Gardens?)
14. Southeast you go without pause, after dits and dahs lead to ahas: .-.. .- -.- . --- ...- . .-. .... --- .-.. ... . .-. (Lake Overholser)
15. If you're close and have the clues in proper order, well then you'll know why you want to go north of Canada's border. (same as clue 7.)
16. In a pentagon old glory flies, while nearby kids can a rocket climb. This place resides along the coast and heading south will help you most.
(don't know this for sure. Satellite view suggests the National Guard on the east side of town on Grand Blvd @NE 34th)
17. Two bird nests form a border, staying east of which will make your search shorter. (Wiley Post and Will Rogers Airports)
18. The guardian stands and looks down at a cloven clover leaf on the ground. Now you must head South and West to continue with this contest. (State Capitol Building)
19. South and west of the sovereign and high is the direction you should try. (?? not sure of this one)
20. From four diamonds configured round, head north to where the coin may be found. (?? or this one)
21. Southward from this place race, where mother and child do embrace, amid the thorns in the surrounding space. ( or this one!)
23. Go north and west, and travel fast, from where 102,000,000 cattle have passed. (Oklahoma National Stockyards)
24. The next step toward completing your quest is to keep Bermuda, Acapulco and Hawaii to your South and West. ( ?? this could be a SouthWest Airlines Billboard)
25. ""Oh,"" you say, and that's the clue. Going west is what you must do. (?? this could mean HOH, water, or it could mean the horse racing track at the FairGrounds)
26. Tracking the Okkt you'll learn of its demise. But north of its trail you might find your prize. (OKlahoma, Kansas, and Topeka Railroad)
27. Don't get mixed up, stay alert, head toward 'A Meatloaf Oak Shirt'. (Oklahoma State Fair)
28. To find the coin use this equation. Then travel south from it's location: P = 1/2pπR2v3 (? OG&E Wind Power Tower?)
29. To find the coin for which you strive, walk where you'd ride, jump east and don't dive. (Auto show building, go east.)
To process this clue, think like a machine, go north once you find out what these numbers mean: 01010010 01000101 01001110 01001111. (RENO, in ASCII. There is only one road which accesses the Fairgrounds from Reno Street going due north, and that is Land Rush St., which goes right by the entrance to the State Fair Grandstand)
30. You need not be psychic to help you divine. To find the coin just look for a sign. Once you look upon it, then you'll know, the thing you find is found down below. (Well, as I said, I didn't find the coin. But I think it was under a Park Guide sign in front of the Grandstand Entrance.)

It was a good game, I just wasn't there at the right time.

Ok, I've cleaned up the wiki and updated it with all the official news. If anyone has the clues to regions that aren't yet accounted for, feel free to sign up and add them, or email/pm me with them and I'll put them up. If you see any missing information, or you have answers for clues that aren't yet 'solved', same thing - update or pm me =)
Great work everyone! It was a fun hunt while it lasted Smile

3 squares = Franklin, Rittenhouse, Washington

I was thinking penn's landing too, but it is, technically, past front street, so i discounted it. and what is the "arch you can't pass through"? I definitely passed through a penn's landing arch a few nights ago....

The triangle formed by Franklin, Rittenhouse and Washington squares doesn't cover Penn's Landing. Also - as you point out, it is past Front Street. That's why I'm confused...hopefully someone can explain how the clues point to Penn's Landing.

Yeah I know, it's BS. The last 4 clues for philly were 10x more specific than the other 26. Still, Penn's landing doesn't fit some (most notably the "arch" clue, the "painting" clue, and the fact that it's past front street/outside the triangle)

although to be far, after clue #23 I was thinking penn's landing too.

I may as well say where I was searching, since it really is over. I was looking at Capenter's Hall/Library Hall, myself.

Atlanta Coin

No ones said anything about the Atlanta coin yet. We got there at about 4am on the 21st and there were about 4 other people there, and one of the guys said he'd been checking in the last few days and had not seen to many people. I am interested to know what kind of locations the other ones were in though, the Atlanta coin was put in a VERY bad spot in my opinion. I was approached by about 4 people asking for money, luckily the another 20 or so homeless people accross the street were still asleep when we were looking. While we were looking though we had to be careful to avoid the pools of urine and piles of human waste. What possessed them to think this was a good spot i really don't know, but not knowing if it had been found, or even put out yet was really bothering us after we drove 5 hours to search in a rather sketch part of town. One of the homeless people told us it was found the day before, but we think he was fishing for some cash cause another guy told him what we were all doing.

Anyways, great idea, awesome clues, they were fairly challenging for someone who'd never been to Atlanta, but awfule, terrible, miserable execution.

The Denver Coin

Hi,

Can anyone point out location of the Denver coin? I haven't heard or read anything about it on any forums. Me and about 12 others were at what we thought was the location this week, from clue 28 (monday, I think) all through last night, in various shifts of 2-4 people. Either we were all way off, or someone just got lucky and was there right when the guy put it out.

As it stands, we were in the plaza at Webb office building, standing under three flagpoles by a statue...looking like idiots, I presume. While we did have a lot of fun along the way, the ending was very poorly executed (just my 2 cents...since that's all I have left now Wink

Prize amounts

I know this is somewhat irrelevant nit-picking, but the numbers for prizes are incorrect on the Wiki thread. Here's what the Dr. Pepper Page says:

Washington DC - $10,00 • Atlanta, GA - $50,000 • Birmingham, AL - $10,000
• Nashville, TN - $100,000 • Seattle, WA - $10,000 • Oklahoma City, OK - $10,000
• Houston, TX - $1,000,000 • Phoenix, AZ - $15,000 • Indianapolis, IN - $25,000
• San Francisco, CA - $10,000 • Chicago, IL - $10,000 • Dallas, TX - $25,000
• New York, NY - $10,000 • Pittsburgh, PA - $10,000 • Boston, MA - $10,000
• Philadelphia, PA - $10,000 • Los Angeles, CA - $50,000 • Toronto, ON - $10,000
• Kansas City, MO - $10,000 • Baton Rouge, LA - $15,000 • Calgary, AB - $25,000
• Denver, CO - $15,000 • Tampa, FL - $250,000 • Virtual - $10,000

Sorry for the formatting...blame Ctrl-V not me!

Denver Coin
Location

The Denver coin was at the south end of the Webb building on 14th St at Bannock, where the "Janus" statue is located. There are 3 flag poles. It was behind the flag pole farthest to the west.

Denver Coin

Wow, if that's true it's a shocker. I'd love to know when the coin was placed, as well as exactly when it was found so I can sleep peacefully at night again...

Maybe DP will at least do us the honor of posting details on the website, lest we all become DP Haters from now on.

Does anyone know of any other similar contests that are currently underway, or are about to begin? It would be great if we started a spin-off thread that tracked new treasure hunting games...I know I would become a member and check it all the time!
